This may be true - but I have noticed that when I play any file through iTUnes,
it is added and I can find it not only on my Mac b but on my phone and iPad as
well -

Bootable Bigsur Backup?

2021-04-08 Thread Paul Hopewell
Hello Mark,
SuperDuper is still not working for me. I am on SuperDuper version 121 which it
says is the latest version and on Bigsur 11.2.3. I am trying to backup all
files from my internal SSD hard disk to a USB external SSD hard disk.
SuperDuper does not even prepare my disks prior to doing the copy.
It all worked fine with Catalina with the same disk configuration.
I will contact the developer.
Best … Paul Hopewell

2021-04-08 Thread Bob Hill
'I changed from SuperDuper with Big Sur to Carbon Copy Cloner.
When I contacted support for SuperDuper, they didn't seem to be in any hurry to
update the app.
Carbon Copy Cloner works well, and can make your backup disk bootable as well.

Bootable backup disk?

2021-04-08 Thread Paul Hopewell
Hello,
As per the below SuperDuper does not work on Bigsur out of the box. It
currently needs a work around.

Please see http://www.shirt-pocket.com/blog
for Big Sur info, instructions and a download.
We're working on a new release that won't require a workaround and will boot
Big Sur on Intel. It is not yet practical on an M1 Mac, though…

Re: looking for a tutor for a friend to learn the iPhone

2021-04-08 Thread Sheri Byrne
I had proposed doing a in person class on this through my community center but
I could not easily meet their insurance requirements.

I am sighted but with glaucoma and astigmatism. Is this something that you
think could be done effectively online?

I get frustrated with Vmware Registration.

2021-04-08 Thread Anders Holmberg
Hi!
I got a link in an e-mail from this list to register for a free license key for
VMware fusion player.
So I click on the link and the web content is empty.
Closing safari an reopen it helped so I can log into my Account.
Still the page tells me I am not registered.
So I click on a button named register but nothing helps.
I don’t know what happened to the accessibility work on Vmware but the page is
not what I expected it to be.
Maybe I should go get firefox and or chrome instead.
I think I will give it a go on my iPad instead.

Re: Using a VM for windows.

2021-04-08 Thread Pete De Vasto
I’ve got VMWare 11, but thought it would be cool to upgrade to version 12. I
don’t have a VMWare account, so I needed to register, too. All went fine until
I got to the part where I needed to fill in the captcha. It even had an option
to speak what I needed to type, but I could not for the life of me find any
place to click verify I’m not a robot. This is sad on their part, if you ask
me, unless I’m missing something somewhere. I actually tried registering both
on Safari with VoiceOver and then went to my Windows PC to see if I might have
better luck with JAWS and MS Edge, but nope, no go there either.

Well, that speech version of the captcha is one of the simplest I’ve ever
encountered. Just four letters/numbers, and pretty darn clear. Why not give it
a try before casting aspersions?

RE: Bootable backup disk?

2021-04-08 Thread M. Taylor
Hello Paul,

Wow! Thank you for this article.

I was just thinking about what I wrote, previously, and realized that while
what I wrote was absolutely true, from my point of view, inaccurate though it
is, I did not take into account that as a tester, I am using Super Duper to
copy Catalina and then upgrade to Big Sur; as opposed to using Super Duper to
make a bootable copy of Big Sur, directly. I do this so often that I don’t
even think about the steps as a friend of mine wrote a short program to
automate much of the process.

Again, thank you for posting the link to the article and I apologize for any
confusion my previous comments may have caused.

Subject: Bootable backup disk?

Hello,
As per the below SuperDuper does not work on Bigsur out of the box. It
currently needs a work around.

Please see http://www.shirt-pocket.com/blog for Big Sur info, instructions and
a download.
We're working on a new release that won't require a workaround and will boot
Big Sur on Intel. It is not yet practical on an M1 Mac, though…

Printing Via Mac?

2021-04-08 Thread Fazil
Hi, Group.

Today I have attempted to print something via Mac for the first time. I went
to TextEdit, found a text file and hit command-p. Mac Brought up my Brother
L2370 WD printer with no problem. I kept all the default options, navigated
to print-button and activated. Printing did not start and I could not see an
error message either. I am not sure what possibly I am doing wrong, are you?

Thanks!
