There is something called 'user library' and they could have landed there - if
I find where this is I will forward this information - you have a good idea
though - download again just to see if they did go in the media library

2021-03-21 Thread CHUCK REICHEL
Hi Robert,
Thanks,
You know I looked in the preferences for a way to grab the latest copy but did
not see an option while the ap was running to retrieve the latest version.
Would you happen to have a trusted direct link on the latest version?
Thanks
Chuck

Hi rob,
Excellent! :)
That did the trick!
All is well again!
Its very handy for grabbing a mp3 version to load up in to pro tools as a
reference track for a client especially when they say I want the mix to sound
like this production from youtube.
Talk soon

Re: more questions about podcasts in Catalina

2021-03-21 Thread Patrick Ford
ok you won't believe this but this is where your podcasts are stored:
~/Library/Group Containers/243LU875E5.groups.com.apple.podcasts

crazy, right? no one is actually supposed to go in here and get a podcast - if
you find this path you can drag it out but I wouldn't mess with it - strange
for apple to do it this way unlike downloading music files.

Voiceover Constant Crashing

2021-03-21 Thread Jeff Berwick
Hi listers,

I got a new MacBook Pro M1 a few weeks ago and my Voiceover is constantly
crashing.

I usually have to restart every five - ten minutes.

Has anybody experienced this and, if so, what was the fix?

Thx,
Jeff

Re: Voiceover Constant Crashing

2021-03-21 Thread 'Jason White' via MacVisionaries
I would suggest contacting Apple’s accessibility support staff. Everything that I’ve read about VoiceOver and Apple’s M1-based hardware has been positive, but I am yet to make that purchase. If this were a widespread issue, I expect it would have been documented on this list or at applevis.com, but I haven’t read any such reports. On 21/3/21, 18:02, "macvisionaries@googlegroups.com" wrote:Hi listers, I got a new MacBook Pro M1 a few weeks ago and my Voiceover is constantly crashing. I usually have to restart every five - ten minutes. Has anybody experienced this and, if so, what was the fix? Thx,Jeff -- The following information is important for all members of the Mac Visionaries list. If you have any questions or concerns about the running of this list, or if you feel that a member's post is inappropriate, please contact the owners or moderators directly rather than posting on the list itself. Your Mac Visionaries list moderator is Mark Taylor.  You can reach mark at:  mk...@ucla.edu and your owner is Cara Quinn - you can reach Cara at caraqu...@caraquinn.com The archives for this list can be searched at:http://www.mail-archive.com/macvisionaries@googlegroups.com/--- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "MacVisionaries" group. To unsubscribe from this group and stop receiving emails from it, send an email to macvisionaries+unsubscr...@googlegroups.com.To view this discussion on the web visit https://groups.google.com/d/msgid/macvisionaries/AE5777D1-4EAB-489A-AA5A-E5B8BD6D2EE3%40berwick.name.

2021-03-21 Thread Jonathan C. Cohn
I have had scrod crash while entering data everspecially passwords) using , an
humanware Brailiant BI display. This will cause VO instability, but when not
using braille I haven't had many problems.
Can you describe more specificass what you are doing right before the crash?

Re: Keyboard Focus?

2021-03-21 Thread Jonathan C. Cohn
Hello,
one question, are you interacting until you are at the text lelel? When you
first oapen a textedit document the VO cursor is usually containing the entire
input area when this is the case every time you switch into the app there is a
good chance the keyboard focus will go to the top of the document.

Re: Voiceover Constant Crashing

2021-03-21 Thread Jeff Berwick
It really Varys.

Most recently it has been crashing when I am trying to read through Safari
pages with Voiceover and, as I am a coder, when I am switching back and forth
between Textedit and Terminal as I write my code and test it.

It seems like it can happen at any time and in any app when I’m doing anything.
It is very non-specific, which is why I’d like to reinstall the Voiceover
binary, but I’m not sure that it can be separated out from the OS.

I am loathed to do a fresh install as it entails a lot of configuring and
installing of programs to get things working the way I need.

where do you go to get there? I mean, how do you start out? is it in iTunes

what I'll probably do is copy them out of there and paste them somewhere else.
that way they'll still be in there. I don't know how to get in there though. is
there a place where you can copy this path for the computer to go there? I
don't know how to do that.

getting rid of the "insertion on word" a on mac os

2021-03-21 Thread Yuma Decaux
Like the subject says, is there a way to silence this extremely annoying
spurious bit of info? it repeats for every dom object on many pages,
particularly those with math symbols. I'd like to be able to just enjoy reading
math instead of going through these headaches of non sollicited announcements

Thanks, and have a great week y'all
