RE: New Mac.

2021-02-07 Thread skipper8218
The problem with specifications is that it is hard to understand what will fit
your needs long-term.
I think any of the M1 macs will work okay, but if you are into video production
or other tasks that require more computing needs, then you would know what
specs you need.

Voiceover skipping punctuation

2021-02-07 Thread Brett Lewis
Hi All:
Has anyone found a solution for the following:
If I am in something like Text Edit and I have a line of code (in this case
react).

This line actually says (I have inserted spaces to make punctuation speak).

This is with punctuation set to all.
Missing the initial { and . . . is really a problem for coding.
I am hoping someone has a suggestion.
In case it is important, this is with Alex as my syntheisizer.
Thanks in advance.
Brett

Of course, different people have different buying strategies.

At least for a VPN that uses IPSec, it's already built into Mac OS.
Apple's documentation is at

https://support.apple.com/guide/mac-help/set-up-a-vpn-connection-on-mac-mchlp2963/mac

You'll need to obtain server details from your employer, your home
router, or whoever is providing you with the VPN service.

Other kinds of VPN will generally require their own software, with
accessibility that probably varies depending on the software involved.

Re: Creating links on the desktop

2021-02-07 Thread Brad Snyder
Assuming you are using Safari on your Mac, do the following to create an Alias
(link) on your desktop to a web page:
1. Open Safari, and go to the desired webpage.
2. While in the webpage in Safari, press VO + M, to place VoiceOver focus on
the Mac’s MenuBar, and select the File menu.
3. Open the File menu, and arrow down to "Save As”, and press Enter, to open
the Save As dialog.
4. Use VO + Right Arrow to move through the options to select Desktop as the
location to save the webpage Alias, and then press Enter.
5. You should find the Alias on your Desktop.

Re: accessible vpn

2021-02-07 Thread Brad Snyder
when you open the DMG, you are presented with 2 items, one is an alias and the
other is the Encrypt.me application.
You want to copy the application to your Applications folder.
Once the application has been copied to your applications folder, you can put
the alias on your desktop if you want.
I never do this, because, when the Encrypt.me app is
running, I can access it from the Menu Extras area, by pressing VO + M twice.

At least for a VPN that uses IPSec, it's already built into Mac OS. Apple's
documentation is at

https://support.apple.com/guide/mac-help/set-up-a-vpn-connection-on-mac-mchlp2963/mac

You'll need to obtain server details from your employer, your home router, or
whoever is providing you with the VPN service.

Other kinds of VPN will generally require their own software, with
accessibility that probably varies depending on the software involved.

how to get it out of there and start over. I did download the version you
posted though.

Re: accessible vpn

2021-02-07 Thread Brad Snyder
I really have no idea what the pop-over you are experiencing could be.
Try pressing VO + F1 twice, to open the Application Chooser, and look for a
system dialogue in the list of open applications.
This may be the pop-over.
