sound loss in iOS 13.1.2

2019-10-05 Thread João de Sousa e Silva

Hi all,

With iOS 13.1.2 running in an iPhone 8 I sawmyself without sound already
twice. The haptic feedback was working but no sound at all.

After plugging it to my Mac and press more-or-less randomly at the
screen, it was vibrating, indicating that the passcode was wrong.

From other phone I called to it and, again, more-or-less randomly I
managed to answer the call and realized that it was working. Right after
the sound returned to the whole system.

Today a similar situation happened:

I was listening a podcast while a phone call arrived at other
synchronized iPhone. I answered it at the iPhone 8. After hanging up the
sound was gone. I call from another phone to the iPhone 8. Although I
couldn’t answer the call, after some seconds the sound returned, and the
podcast restarted at the point that it was before I got the original
phone call to the other synchronised iPhone.

Anyone with a similar experience?

Regards,

João

OS 6: cannot access the status barWatch

2019-10-05 Thread João de Sousa e Silva

Hi all,

Since the first version of Watch OS 6, in both, an s4 and n a s3, I
cannot access the status bar at the watch.

It works just a few times. When I have notifications sometimes I can
access it. If I lock the watch and woke it up right away , I cannot
access the status bar anymore.

Anyone else?

Regards,

João

Whatch OS 6: no sound while entering the unlock code

2019-10-05 Thread João de Sousa e Silva

Hi all,

Since the first version of Watch OS 6, while entering the code to unlock
the watch, any sound isn’t reproduced indicating that the capacitive
keys are being activated, although they are.

Anyone else realised this?

Re: Mark on Latest Commercial Release of iOS 13 Using iPhone 8 Plus

2019-10-05 Thread 'Sabahattin Gucukoglu' via MacVisionaries
The biggest reason I am still disinclined to upgrade my 8 Plus right now is the
scrolling behaviour. This is just very, very annoying and broken, and it
appears to be a known issue, but some screens especially those in Settings
cannot be swiped through consistently because of the appearance of what VO
calls “Scroll Bars”. Although you can work around this using scroll gestures
and screen exploration, it seriously undermines the experience to the point I
decided against the upgrade of my primary phone, and wiped my iPod Touch
completely until such time as Apple fixes it or at least until the problem is
less annoying.

Cheers,
Sabahattin

2019-10-05 Thread Jessica Moss
Same, I, along with my supervisor at one of. My jobs where we do 508 compliance
of web sites, both use a Mac, and the screen is doing the exact same thing.
We’re both having the issue of the cursor skipping around, and he’s apparently
contacted Apple about this, and several things we both found as far as safari
getting stuck at the navigation portion of the screen when I would try to test
various sites, but never had this issue trying to browse the sites using Google
Crome.

2019-10-05 Thread Angus MacKinnon
I made a call and when I hanged up, I had no sounds. iTunes saw the phone but
no sounds. I took the phone to an Apple Store. A Apple Genius Performed a Hard
Rest. And after getting a Hard Reset done all sounds returned. about a week
later I had the same problem. My father came over to help me do a Hard Reset.
On Thursday after calling a Doctor, as soon as I hanged up all sounds were
gone. It seems that I was finally able to do a Hard Reset myself and after the
phone was able to talk to Apple’s Servers, all sounds returned.

iOS 13.x Bug Report: Cannot Dismiss Share Name and Photo Prompt in Messages via VoiceOver

2019-10-05 Thread M. Taylor
Hello All,

I hope you will join me in sending the following bug report to Apple, making
changes where you see fit.

Thank you,

Mark

iOS 13.x Bug Report: Cannot Dismiss Share Name and Photo Prompt in Messages
via VoiceOver

With VoiceOver enabled, the user cannot dismiss the "Share Name and Photo"
prompt that appears in the iOS 13.x Messages app.

Steps to Reproduce:

1.
Make certain that VoiceOver is enabled.

2.
When setting up iOS 13.x for the first time, elect not to enable the sharing
of name and photo in Messages.

3.
Open the Messages app.

4.
At some point, most likely when you receive an iMessage from a contact, you
will be prompted to share your name and photo. You are given two options
although the second option is not obvious to the VoiceOver user. The first
option is to enable the sharing option. This prompt is located near the
top of the display/beginning of a thread. See attached screen shot for
example.

5.
While a sighted, non-VoiceOver user can easily see that there is an "X"
located near the prompt, allowing the user to permanently dismiss the
prompt, VoiceOver does not speak this option.

6.
Assuming that the VoiceOver user does not wish to share name and photo,
he/she can single-finger swipe up on the display, repeatedly, until
VoiceOver says, "Dismiss." However, this option does not work. Selecting
the "dismiss" option has absolutely no effect on the actual prompt, itself
as it continues to be displayed. It should be noted that having the prompt
continuing to be displayed does, in fact, impact the functionality of the
Messages app for the VoiceOver user.

At present, the only workaround is to disable VoiceOver and have a sighted
person tap the "X", permanently dismissing the prompt.

I fervently request that this bug be resolved as soon as possible.

Thank you,

Mark

RE: Whatch OS 6: no sound while entering the unlock code

2019-10-05 Thread Simon A Fogarty
I’m not getting that but I do have an issue where most of my complications
disappear
Or at least the name of the complication disappears but the position still
notes something as there,

I have to keep turning the watch power off and on to get things back.

I forgot to mention that I did that, triple click twice, but without
results. Also, was using the Find Me, the phone was there, and it was
even saying that it was ringing, after I requested it. Again, no sound!

How to report such a problem to Apple? Sometimes I feel like at the call
centre thy are trying more to say that it is normal than trying to
understand the issue. Also, they will ask for a full restore with DFU
mode… I can see this happening…

Anyone with a similar experience?

RE: Mark on Latest Commercial Release of iOS 13 Using iPhone 8 Plus

2019-10-05 Thread M. Taylor
Hello Simon,

Since writing my previous post on this, I have managed to get the audio to
switch between the phone and the watch, via the Voyager Edge, albeit not nearly
as smoothly as in the previous versions of either OS.

As for the AirPods? So far, I have not managed to get them connected to the
watch. This is to say, while they are reported as being connected, no sound
has issued forth, VoiceOver or otherwise, from the watch.

Hi Mark,

The first issue I've noticed but I thought that was how it had always worked
for me.

As for the second issue I'll try finding my edge and give it a try or possibly
try my voyager 5200 as well,

But do you have any issues with earpods switching between devices automatically

Subject: Mark on Latest Commercial Release of iOS 13 Using iPhone 8 Plus

Hello All,

Well, quite unexpectedly, I updated my 8 Plus to the latest version of iOS 13,
today. This is to say, I thought the system would ask me to agree to the terms
of service, before updating but, for the first time in my history with the
company, it did not. Instead, it went right ahead and updated then, after
rebooting, it asked if I agreed to the terms of service (smile).
I'm not blaming apple, too much, after all, I freely entered my phone's pass
code which permitted the update.

Be that as it may, I must say that I have no major problems with the latest
commercial release version of iOS 13. I am careful to mention that I am
referring to the commercial release because I am running the latest iPad OS
beta on my iPad Pro.

After updating, I have been trying to reproduce many of the issues I've read
about here on the list. I am happy and surprised to report that I cannot
reproduce any of them on my 8 Plus. This is to say, call routing is performing
as expected. Call waiting and all things call related are working just fine.
Try as I may, I have not yet managed to lose VoiceOver or any hap tic feedback
before, during, or after making any calls, even those on Face Time.

Mind you I've only had iOS 13 on my 8 plus for 1 days so who knows what
tomorrow may bring but, for now, all of my go-to apps, such as Nearby Explorer,
Over Drive, all of my banking apps, Twitter, and all of the native apps appear
to be working as expected.

The only annoying thing I have noticed, so far, is that when typing in a
contact, when composing a text message, VoiceOver does not read the label
associated with a particular number. I will file a bug report on this,
tomorrow.

Steps to reproduce:

1.
>From within the messages app, compose a new message.

2.
Place focus in the, "To" field.

3.
Type in the first few letters of a contact's name such as "dav" for the name
"David." Now in previous versions of the OS, VoiceOver would say something
like, "David Johnson, Mobile." In this release, it merely says, "David
Johnson, 800-555-1212." Which may or may not be David's mobile number.

As for the second thing I have noticed is that now, thanks to iOS 13 and Watch
OS 6, my seemless VoiceOver audio switching between the watch and the phone no
longer works on my Plantronics Voyager Edge. At least, I cannot get it to
work. I can get audio from either device but no longer does it do
so automatically.Thanks Apple.

If anyone out there has got this working, please let me know how you
accomplished it.

Okay, that's all for now.

In the Journey,

Mark.
