Re: YFi Extendor/Repeators?

2019-01-26 Thread Pete De Vasto
Eileen,

Which one did you get, if I may ask? Also, and you probably know this, you
first plug the extender into an outlet near the router to pair it up, then you
move it to someplace else between the router and the other end of your house or
whatever. The name of the network of the extender, on mine at least, is created
with the underline ext added to it. So, if your router’s name is MyNetwork, the
extender’s network name is MyNetwork_ext. It’s got the same security as my
router does, and you need the same password as the main router to get in. My
master bedroom is way in the back of the house, and my main router is in my
office in the front. Before I got the extender, I was only getting one or two
bars on my iPod located in the bedroom, but after I put the extender, located
in our dining room in the middle of the house, my iPod signal strength went up
to three bars.

Hope this helps,
Pete

entering passwords again?

2019-01-26 Thread Matt Turner
So I’ve updated to the newest version of the OS.
It seems, to me, that when the password window comes up, and i hit
VO+Shift+space, Vo just goes busy.
I have to force quit the app, maybe like 5/6 times, until I can get the
password to come up.

Re: entering passwords again?

2019-01-26 Thread Jonathan Cohn
Well, if you have been using Mac OS for several years and mostly doing
upgrades, it might be time to reset your keychain. Note, any passwords saved in
your keychain will not be directly available to you if you do this process. If
you keep getting prompted to enter mail passwords every time you launch mail
then there is a good chance you should do this. Open the Keychain Access
program found in the Utilities directory, and then open its preferences. In
there there is a button to reset your keychains when you do this any passwords
saved in your local keychain that are not stored in the iCloud keychain will be
unavailable but not totally lost. This is because Keychain access will first
save a copy of the keychain. So you could always add the saved keychain into
keychain access and copy a password saved in the saved keychain back into your
current keychain.

Best wishes,

Jonathan Cohn

Hi, I kind of figured it out.
I was trying to install some software.
What I ended up doing, is turn off VO, then cmd tab, then turn vo back on, then
cmd+tab back to the window, then vo+shift+space.
All that for that.

I've experienced something similar while in certain applications. What
happens is that it appears taht the Text Edit Box for some reason isn't
getting focus. I'm not sure if this helps you or not, but just figured
taht I would give it a spin as far as ideas are concerned.

Re: airdrop

2019-01-26 Thread Maria Reyes
Hi,
On the phone open up the share sheet. There's two more buttons on the screen.
Now I don't remember if it's the first or second more button but check those
out. One of them should have apps that you can toggle on and off. One of them
should be Dropbox. After you toggle that to on and hit the done button, scroll
down past AirDrop to the bottom of the screen and you should see a Dropbox
button.

Hi,

Ah thanks for looking at it. Well my VO isn't saying "window" much

I use Quick Nav a fair bit because things are pretty inefficient for

 Hi,

Until recently I used CleanMyMac to clean up my system but it prompted
me a few times to try the new CleanMyMac x and today I tried the
latter. But I'm having problems reading the screen. When it opened
there were two windows open - one of which had a table in it among
other things. In the old CleanMyMac 3 there was a table containing
various cleanup tools, I would choose one from the table and press
"scan". But in CleanMyMac x VO was unable to read the items in the
table - just kept saying "unknown". I looked at the other window and
in that there was just a "scan" button which I pressed, thinking maybe
after it had scanned VO would be able to read the items in the table.
It finished scanning but still I wasn't able to read the items in that
table and basically I'm not sure what to do next and would want to
know what I'm going to delete before I do so.

There is a button saying something like "unlock full version" so I'm
wondering if maybe those items in the table are disabled until you buy
 it.

Is anyone using CleanMyMac x and are you able to read those items in
the table? Does anyone recall trying out the product and whether you
were able to read the table then? I don't want to buy it if I can't
read everything. Perhaps I don't need to worry about the table - if
anyone's using CleanMyMac x could you describe how you go about using
 it?

 Thanks,
 Catherine

iTunes Library Issues

2019-01-26 Thread 'E.T.' via MacVisionaries
Latest Mojave and iTunes. I found that what I see on my Apple TV
does not match what I see in iTunes on the Mac. I see all of the content
in the Home Videos folder, all of it on the Apple TV, but not all of it
in iTunes on the Mac.

I tried launching iTunes while holding down the option key and
choosing the library. No change. Then I moved the database file and
repeating launching iTunes while holding down the option key and
choosing the library. No go.

What else can I try? Thanks.

Re: CleanMyMac question

Ahh I see. Quick Nav can do weird things though.

Hi,

Ah thanks for looking at it. Well my VO isn't saying "window" much
either - but saying "unknown" when I move around inside the table.

I use Quick Nav a fair bit because things are pretty inefficient for
me without it as I can only use one hand and rely on sticky keys.

Thanks,
Catherine

Catherine,
I fooled around in the app. When I first open it, VO says 'Clean My
Mac window'. That is really the only time I hear 'window'. I changed
verbosity settings which had no effect. I avoid Quick Nav most times. Up
and down arrows and tab seem to be all I need. I cannot think what else
to look at.
