First thing to do is check your battery health in the settings - battery area.
I too often notice a bit of a delay especially I try to review caller details
with VoiceOver before answering.

We started noticing this behavior once we switch to T-Mobile service. Not sure

Re: finding something in Preview and go to it quickly?

2018-04-10 Thread Tim Kilburn
Hi,

Normally, the first page in the Document area is the page that is selected from
the search results table. Alternatively, use VO-j to accomplish this. Using
the same initial method of interacting with the results table, then once you've
located the result you wish to evaluate, press VO-j which will jump you to the
proper page, not directly to the text, but to the proper page. Interact with
the page and navigate through to find what you were searching for.

2018-04-10 Thread Jonathan Cohn
Hello,

You also need to actually make sure that the table item is selected not just
has VO focus. So, depending on settings using a vo-space, vo-return or just
using arrow keys might be necessary in order to actually have a page in the
list of pages selected. You should be able to verify selection of items with
the vo-F6 keystroke.
Best Wishes,

Jonathan Cohn

Re: Ios 11.3 and delay answering calls

2018-04-10 Thread Andrew Lamanche
No, I’ve been experiencing the same delay, which is worrying as at times the
other person will have hung up thinking there’s something wrong with the line.
I’ve disabled wifi calling thinking it might be a contributing factor but I’ve
not established yet whether it’s true or not.

Re: Ios 11.3 and delay answering calls

2018-04-10 Thread Tim Kilburn
Hi,

WiFi calling shouldn't have anything to do with it, but it was a good thing to
check since technical issues aren't always logical. For me the best results
were realized when I turned off the "Auto Detect In Call" feature. This is the
feature that swaps between the speaker phone and regular earpiece audio
automatically when you pull the iPhone away from your ear. By disabling this
feature, the only time I've experienced delays is when I use Siri to invoke a
call. To disable this feature, go to Settings, General, Accessibility,
VoiceOver, Audio and you'll see it as one of the configurable options there.

Re: apple watch series 3 sale

2018-04-10 Thread Paul Henrichsen
Hi Jed.
Having an Apple Watch is one of those things that you could probably do
without. However, once you get one, you’ll wonder how you ever lived without
it. There’s a number of things you can do with an Apple Watch, from keeping
track of your exercise routine to finding out what the weather is and a lot of
other things you can do without having to take your phone out of your pocket.
it’s worth it if you can afford it.

misspelled word announcement while reading E-mail

2018-04-10 Thread Kristeen Hughes
This is happening to a friend of mine who is learning the Mac. I seem to
remember that I did something to make it stop, but I don’t remember what it is.
I looked in E-mail settings, but even under “spelling and grammar” there is
nothing that we try that works. Does anyone have an answer. Thanks a lot.

Also, thank you for all of the answers you all provide. I so appreciate all of
your wondrous brain cells.

2018-04-10 Thread John Panarese
If it's the Mac, you will need to go into VoiceOver Utility and under the
Verbosity category, choose the, Text Tab. There will be a popup button for
telling VO what you want it to do with misspelled words. Change it to either,
do nothing, or, play tone.

Re: Ios 11.3 and delay answering calls

2018-04-10 Thread Jonathan Cohn
Hello,

I like the idea that it has to do with the auto switching between speaker and
standard phone mode. When my batter was near about 80% I did experience some
issues as you described, but then when I started answering with the aired I
stopped having issues.

BlindSquare clockface directions

2018-04-10 Thread Christina

Hello all,

Everytime I use blindSquare when walking, it will announce a POI at say 2
o’clock, more often than not, it’s completely wrong. I’ve tried using the phone
in my pocket or holding it with the screen facing the sky. Also, Does
blindSquare support being in your pocket as long as you are moving to use GPS
to tell what direction you are walking to make announcements accurate? The app
directions mention putting your phone in your pocket but I seem to have bad
luck with that. Is there a trick or setting that I’m missing because I haven’t
found such a setting.

Thanks,
Christina

Hello!

When you are walking, direction comes from GPS changes, so then there is no
matter how device is positioned.
