Re: Trillion question.

2016-10-01 Thread Jeffrey Shockley
Hello,
One thing to possibly check is to make sure your status is set to “Online” in
the Status menu, access where all the other status menus like the time and
Wi-Fi are. So, what you do is find the one for Trilian and VO Space on that
one, find Online, and VO Space on that. Then, if it doesn’t reconnect, quit and
restart the program.
I hope this helps,

Interesting Ray

2016-10-01 Thread Martin Brown
Not the fact that you prefer the old smelly hoofs unsheathed Ray, but that
you prefer Amadeus Pro over Sound Forge Pro. I have a friend who has just
recently bought both for his Mac, but have not been in touch to hear his
thoughts. He has been a long-time user of Sound Forge on the PC and has
always claimed that nothing else could touch it for ease of use and a real
professional feel to the finished product on which he has been working.

I know that Jonathan Mosen is also a big fan of Amadeus Pro on the Mac, and
you only have to listen to the quality of his recordings to know that he
uses only the best. Out of interest Ray, have you a particular field of
interest when it comes to recording or is it just anything and everything?

Finally, do keep that old Mac rocking and rolling until it just won't rock
anymore. Good machine in its youth me thinks, and probably still is.
Take Care.

Re: Recommendations for noise canceling headphones

2016-10-01 Thread Anders Holmberg
Hi!
Well i haven’t had any bigger problems with them.
It sometimes happens that it wont connect to a device but its often due to that
it can connect to more than one device at a time.
One thing i find frustrating is that it has a speech synthesizer built-in that
when i for example listen to something can began to talk when finding a new
device it has a connection to and connects to that device.
THe speech totally interupts the thing i listen to but does not pause it so its
a bit of a frustration.
I haven’t found any way to turn this off.

Thanks Anders, I bought the QC 25's, the wired versions and they work great. I

have to deal with the potential Bluetooth problems.
My main concern is that the active electronics don't fail to soon as I have

if I get a full year out of them before any problems arise I'll be happy.
It is truly amazing how the outside world just fades into the background when

Re: It's not good to believe everything you hear

2016-10-01 Thread Kawal Gucukoglu
Hi.

Just catching up with the group e-mails. I have a Mac Mini and I Mac but don't
understand why a seven year old MacMini won't work with the latest Mac
Operating system. I thought as long as you have a working Mac then the new OS
will work on anything providing that it has enough memory to run such as 4 to
16 of RAM.

I also would not attack anyone just because they could not run the latest
software as it is what we can afford asthe hard ware goes. These quality
machines are expensive, much so than windows.

Although both of my machines have 32 and 16 of RAM, once these machines have
packed up, no idea if I'll be able to afford new machines as it depends if I'm
still working.

Thanks.

Kawal.

2016-10-01 Thread Anne Robertson
Hello Kawal,

I’ve had Macs for 20 years now and on several occasions, the processor chips
have changed meaning that an older Mac couldn’t run the latest OS. The
processors in these older Macs cannot cope with the new OS, but they can carry
on running El Capitan with no problem.
We have an old Mac Mini that is still running Snow Leopard!
Cheers,

Anne

Kawal,
Memory is only a small part of the hardware. There is a great deal
more under the hood that plays a part in what a new OS can support. Just
as there are advances in hardware design, there are advances in the OS
which can be backward compatible only so far.

But this does not mean we must buy new hardware if what we have
performs to our expectations.

I also would not attack anyone just because they could not run the latest

Although both of my machines have 32 and 16 of RAM, once these machines have

Ipod Battery Issue.

2016-10-01 Thread Singing Sparrow

Ok, is this normal.

I was listening to some stuff on my Ipod and I checked my battery status.

by asking siri what is my battery status.

Now I should menchen that my battery was at 100 Percent.

I checked the battery and low and behold my battery status was at 78
percent after only a half hour of listening.

So i continued listening and after a while i checked again and I was at
12 percent of my battery now the strange thing is that my Ipod shut off
at 12 percent of the battery.

I plugged the Ipod In and it took a half hour for it to come back up now
that is strange because I know that the 0 Percent mark would be when the
Ipod would totally shut down.

So i just let it charge overnight i put it intolocked status because
someone told me to do that other wise you are using the battery you are
trying to charge, Well i today did a bible study that i do everyday, and
then listened to music for about a half hour and my battery went from
100 percent to 68 percent so What in the blooming heck is happening, and
how can ifix this.

Apple discontinuing the iPod?

2016-10-01 Thread Donna Goodin
Hi all,

I just left Best Buy, and the sales person there told me that Apple has
completely discontinued the iPod and that Best Buy is shipping all of its iPod
stock back to Apple. I have no idea if this is true, but if you're in the
market, prices on the latest Jen iPod are great right now!
Cheers,

Re: Apple discontinuing the iPod?

2016-10-01 Thread Donna Goodin
I was surprised, too. I've been thinking about upgrading my fifth GEN for a
long time. Almost bought one today, the prices at Best Buy are great, you can
get 64 gig for $300. But instead, I think I'm going to pay off my iPhone 7 when
I get the next iPhone, and keep it as my music device. That gives me the
advantage of having the faster processor, the additional storage, And The new
chip. That'll give me a much nicer device, with a much longer shelf life, for
only a little bit more money.
Cheers,

2016-10-01 Thread christopher hallsworth
Guys, it can’t be true, I looked at iDownloadblog and there is no articles
suggesting the iPod is going. Nobody’s fault, but whoever is spreading rumours,
on or off list, should give us some credible sources. It’s allright saying a
guy from Best Buy has said this and that, but anybody from anywhere can make
things up like that. Again, not blaming anyone here, just offering some
constructive criticism to the list overall.

Just look at Apple's site, to the things being sold. If you can find iPods, and

Re: Apple discontinuing the iPod?

2016-10-01 Thread Donna Goodin
Chris,

Had you paid attention, you would have noticed that my subject line contained a
question mark. One reason I brought the issue to the attention of the list is
because I figured someone here would have better information than the guy from
BestBuy. Last I heard, asking questions was allowed on this list. So hold
your criticism.

Hold on, yes there is a question mark at the end of the subject line. So will
now take back what I said and apologies to the list overall. The way I read
messages on the mac, which is for another topic for another day, probably for
another list, I don’t get told the subject line. So just go off the message
body. Anyway, criticism, held.

Re: Apple discontinuing the iPod?

2016-10-01 Thread Donna Goodin
Actually, not necessarily. All that means is that they still have them in
stock. I'm not saying they are stopping selling them, I'm just saying that the
fact that Apple still has them in stock isn't proof of anything.
Best,
Donna

Re: Apple discontinuing the iPod?

2016-10-01 Thread christopher hallsworth
I shall add, that Apple “did” quietly discontinue the iPod Classic, so it is
certainly possible that future iPods will be discontinued. But as of today,
Apple are still stocking all but the original iPod Classic.

Re: Apple discontinuing the iPod?

2016-10-01 Thread Donna Goodin
Yeah, one thing I wondered is if people are now just using their iPhones rather
than having a dedicated music player. It would kind of make sense. I'd
probably do that if I didn't use Voiceover. If that's true, it could be that
iPod sales have fallen off.

Re: Apple discontinuing the iPod?

2016-10-01 Thread Antonio Guimaraes
Hi all,

A precursory Google search turned out the following links from the past two
years on this topic, both rumors.

from 2015
http://appleinsider.com/articles/15/06/11/ipods-disappearance-from-top-of-apple-website-signals-further-slide-into-obscurity

And from earlier this year
http://forums.macrumors.com/threads/ipods-being-discontinued.1960612/

Maybe a Best Buy associate has more informationthan the average consumer about
what Apple is or isn’t pulling from its stores, but as usual Apple will do what
it wants, everybody won’t like it, will argue over it, then get over it.

Guys, it can’t be true, I looked at iDownloadblog and there is no articles
suggesting the iPod is going. Nobody’s fault, but whoever is spreading
rumours, on or off list, should give us some credible sources. It’s allright
saying a guy from Best Buy has said this and that, but anybody from anywhere
can make things up like that. Again, not blaming anyone here, just offering
some constructive criticism to the list overall.

Chris,

Had you paid attention, you would have noticed that my subject line
contained a question mark. One reason I brought the issue to the attention
of the list is because I figured someone here would have better information
than the guy from BestBuy. Last I heard, asking questions was allowed on
this list. So hold your criticism.

Hold on, yes there is a question mark at the end of the subject line. So
will now take back what I said and apologies to the list overall. The way I
read messages on the mac, which is for another topic for another day,
probably for another list, I don’t get told the subject line. So just go off
the message body. Anyway, criticism, held.

I shall add, that Apple “did” quietly discontinue the iPod Classic, so it is
certainly possible that future iPods will be discontinued. But as of today,
Apple are still stocking all but the original iPod Classic.

RE: Apple discontinuing the iPod?

2016-10-01 Thread Simon Fogarty
www.apple.co.nz

website shows the touch nano and shuffle models all still on sale.

Could it just be that they are about to release a newer up to date hardware
model of the iPods

When were they last updated?

The touch 6Gen has the A8 chip in it, and nano hasn't been updated in a while.

I use an iPod touch all the time.

I have one on my bike for a cycle computer and one for my audio books.

Yeah, one thing I wondered is if people are now just using their iPhones rather
than having a dedicated music player. It would kind of make sense. I'd
probably do that if I didn't use Voiceover. If that's true, it could be that
iPod sales have fallen off.

hi Donna. How are you? if you do want to still buy an iPod touch, I recommend
you to go to the Apple Store to buy one instead of going to Best Buy store
LOL!! I bought my iPod touch from the Apple Store!! However, if you want you
can go to the Best Buy Taurus Best Buy store and tell them that you find out
that they still sell it from the Apple Store website!! hope this suggestion
helps!! thanks and God bless!!

I shall add, that Apple “did” quietly discontinue the iPod Classic, so it is
certainly possible that future iPods will be discontinued. But as of today,
Apple are still stocking all but the original iPod Classic.

Yeah, I know. Until today, I just relied on the preview pain and focus remained

interact with the messages table, navigate the subject column, and if a subject
interests me I can just open the message with return. If not, I delete the
