2014-05-26 Thread Jean

Hi Lisette:
Thank you for letting me know that my question had been answered previously. I
am traveling and don't have an internet connection much of the time so when I
do have one, I must do everything and possibly miss some things.
I have changed the setting you suggested and will see if it solves the problem.
Thanks again,
Jean

What is the best way to change a rotor settings iPad? For me, I have to pick my
iPad up if I want to do this gesture. Is there a better way to do it?

One thing you can do is set shortcuts and type a little faster that way.

Re: Typing On The IPhone's On-Screen Keyboard

2014-05-26 Thread Kawal Gucukoglu
Hello.

I do use the typing regular keyboard on my iPhone.

I do dictate an awful lot as well. And when I am at work, will use my Braille
display as I cannot type on the keyboard as fast as I would like. However, for
short messages, I can type relatively fast if I put my mind to it.

Re: Typing On The IPhone's On-Screen Keyboard

2014-05-26 Thread Deb Lewis
When typing on the phone I take advantage of shortcuts and also autocorrect.
For example, you never have to capitalize the first letter of a sentence or put
in an apostrophe, the phone will do those things. I use a keyboard or my
braille display for long typing or significant editing but I use the phone
screen a surprising amount. if you keep practicing you'll get good speed and
accuracy.

Keyboard Layout Different in login Screen: How to Change?

2014-05-26 Thread Teresa Cochran
Hi, folks,

I have an Amazon Basics usB keyboard, which I use with my 2009 Mac Mini. Within
my user account, I switched two keys, so that the command key is next to the
spacebar and the option key is next to it. They are the other way around by
default. In the login screen, the keys revert to their default behavior. I'm
wondering if there's a way to change the keyboard settings for the login screen.

thanks,
Teresa

On the other hand, there are different fingers.

Call History from a few months ago?

2014-05-26 Thread Christina C.
Hello listers,

Does anyone know if there is an accessible way to get my call history from
several months ago. I need a record of calls from a specific contact. I noticed
in the phone app recents tab, that the call history does not go back that far.
I also noticed I can't find any details like how long a call lasted or specific
times multiple calls made on the same day occurred. It will just say 2 calls
but not what time both calls were.

Thanks for any help,
Christina

Re: Call History from a few months ago?

2014-05-26 Thread Christina C.
Oh, OK. The problem is that it only shows calls that either made it to
voicemail or a phone conversation. The phone bill does not seem to show the
calls made where the phone only rang but was not picked up by voicemail or a
person. :) I could be wrong though. I need to be able to see all the calls even
if the call was only ringing but there was no answer.

Thanks so much,

Exactly. :) I think the mobile phone carriers only show a completed call.
However, my iPhone will show calls that were not picked up/answered. This is
the information I would like to see going back several months instead of just
from April 30th. :)

Christina,

Have you tried downloading your previous cellular carrier invoices?
I know when with AT&T I could download previous spreadsheets from months
past, which did have a detailed list of all calls made with duration of
call, time call was made, received, and ended; and other interesting
albeit, negligible details.

Hope this has been helpful.

Hi there
I tend to use dictation, and then go back and use the keyboard to correct. Of
course I sometimes use myBraille display, but I usually use that for longer

But now I do okay.

I also tend to use touch typing most of the time when I'm using the keyboard.

Re: Call History from a few months ago?

2014-05-26 Thread Tim Kilburn
Hi,

I believe that your Call History is just limited to that 30 day or about 100
calls. I read of some things you can do with some utilities or lower level
modifications that can affect this to make it keep a longer history but have
never tried them. I was playing with an app that I downloaded from the Net
called iExplorer that claims to be able to put that Call History into a txt or
CSV file for you but it didn't get anything past the Apr 30 either. If there
is a way, I don't think that it's going to be a very easy task. Sorry.

Voiceover and iTunes Navigation

2014-05-26 Thread Emilio Hernandez
Hello everyone,

Since the recent iTunes update, I have had an issue that is not so much a
problem, but an annoyance.
Basically, I am no longer able to access content via "first letter" navigation
when interacting with a content table.
In order for this feature to occur, I must first stop interacting with the
layout table, then press the series of letters either for the TV show or
artist, then resume interacting with the table to be taken to the desired
content.
Does anyone else have this issue? Is this a problem among the compatibility of
Voiceover and iTunes? Is this an isolated case?
I recently had to reinstall OS X, so I am not sure if a setting is not set
correctly, but I do not think so.

Thanks for any help anyone can provide.

Accessible music converter program

2014-05-26 Thread Brent Harbolt
Just wanted to let everyone know that I found an accessible bull music
converter program in the App Store. It's called Music converter and music
converter Pro. The music converter Pro is $10 and very well worth it! The music
converter is free and is not as customizable as the music converter Pro. But if
somebody just wants to convert one song at a time it's perfect for that. Anyway
hope this helps someone.

It seems OpenOffice for Os X is pretty awful. It's unstable. VoiceOver

you have to press space once the button is in the VoiceOver cursor. I
since quickly uninstalled it by simply moving the app to the Trash and
will go back to Pages/Numbers/Keynote as the office suite for the mac.

Re: Voiceover and iTunes Navigation

2014-05-26 Thread Tim Kilburn
hi,

I'm pretty sure that I've always had to operate in that manner, although, I may
have just got used to doing things that way and didn't realize when that was
changed. Also, there were a few things in the latest iTunes that broke the way
we were used to doing things with keyboard navigation as it appears that VO
doesn't track properly with the keyboard within iTunes tables. So, I guess
that I'm saying that it's likely not specific to you nor anything caused by
your latest re-install. I'm guessing that it will be fixed in the next update
to iTunes as those sorts of errors seem to be addressed quickly.
