 Hi there
If you are going to get a braille display, you may want to get one that is
on the voiceover list, just in case you do need to use it with either your

voiceover list? My Braille edge 40 for example, allows you to store files
on it separately from your computer or your phone. However, it can act as
a braille display as well for either my computer or my phone.

Hi there
I have a 5 S as well, and I have never had this happen. It sounds like you have
done everything I can think of, except resetting with both the home and the
power key together. Apple told me not to do this too often, but hopefully it
will force your phone to restart. I think that's something like a cold start or
something; apparently it's more of a restart than just turning it on and off.

Re: No Luck with the Focus Blue 40

2014-05-11 Thread Eugenia Firth
Hi there '
I hope it works, but I might point out that if you call Freedom Scientific
about your braille display like I did and you mention the words Macintosh
computer, you are immediately told to call Apple. They won't even talk about
it, no matter what your question is. I must say they sort of panicked when I
asked about that cd that comes with the Focus 14. I didn't think it had a Mac
installer on it since Apple puts those drives on our Macs, but I was hoping. I
was told immediately no way should I put that cd in my Mac. They didn't know
there was no way I was going to do that unless it was marked for that or they
told me to do it.

A WordPress Question

2014-05-11 Thread Scott Rumery
For those on the list that are experienced with using the hosted version of
WordPress I have a question for you.

I am currently working on a project at work that requires me to write up blog
posts that have a video recording in them. I then upload this video to our
YouTube page. Now I know that I can just put the link to this video link the
post, but I would actually like to have the video embedded on the page so it
will show up as a frame. This was working a few days ago but for some reason it
no longer works. I have tried using a YouTube plug in but still it doesn't work.

In reading some of the WordPress documentation for our installed version of
WordPress which is 3.9.1 I have learned that this should work automatically by
just pasting the url on its own line in the post but again this doesn't work
for me.

My question to those who have experience with using the WordPress back end is:
does the pasting of a naked url in a post on your site automatically embed the
video in the post?

Thank you for any help with this issue.

apple mail

2014-05-11 Thread Tristan
Hi,

I can't seem to get voiceover to read the table of messages in the
default mail application. I have selected the mailbox in the mailboxes
table, and then have attempted either navigating to the messages group
of just hitting ctrl+option+j to jump directly there. No dice. I know
the messages are there, because if I go all the way to the bottom
where it says "Mailboxes action menu button," click "get info" and
then go once again to the bottom and activate the show messages
button, they occasionally show up.

I'm pretty sure this is just something to do with views or something
else. I have an iCloud folder under inbox, as well as a Google
folder; both corresponding to my iCloud e-mail and my gmail account,
respectively. Neither seem to show, though I do have about 80 messages
that I can read just fine under junk mail.
The messages section says "messages column group." I interact with it,
then hear a sort by date button. Going forawrd yields an empty table
(where the messages -should- be)

I've googled all over and can't seem to find anyone else with this
issue. Any recommendations?

When voice over and announces "Messages Table quote is when you interact. When
you're done stop interacting.

Hi,
Have you tried quitting and restarting Mail? Sometimes, Mail and Gmail don't

Hope this helps,

Re: apple mail

2014-05-11 Thread Tristan
Every time this's happened, I've quit, aiming to go back and try
later. I go back and the same occurs. An app restart just now yielded
no different results. Probably consequently, the same thing is
happening with my iCloud, not just Gmail.
It might be worth calling Apple about this tomorrow. Quite odd --
following the instructions specifically laid out in the online
Voiceover guide don't work either.
