Re: Downloading bard books with the mac
You can monitor the download progress in the tool bar. I download bard books all the time, usually when you unzip them, a folder is created that contains all of the files, copy that to your player, works great. Re: Downloading bard books with the mac
Hi Mike, all i see in the Toolbar is the downloads button, nowhere to monitor progress. And if you wouldn't mind, please describe how unzipping them is possible to get the files I need in order to play these books? Thanks again. Re: Downloading bard books with the mac
Okay. I hate it when people make a simple process sound so blastedly complicated. Mike's correct though, and, it was he who taught me how to do this. 1. Make sure you have your browser set to open safe files. this I believe, you have already done. 2. Click the link for downloading the book you wish. 3. from inside the tool bar, at the very right end, is the download button. You want to press this. 4. Now, you will see a download list in the right side of this window. Interact with this list. 5. Now, you can see the book being downloaded and, if you interact with it, you will be able to monitor its progress. 6. When done, the zip file will open automatically, and, the zip version will be relegated to the trash. 7. The book is now ready to be transferred over to what ever device you wish to read it on. 8. Assuming, however, that you've set Safari to not open safe files, (this is my own choice.), you will need then to navigate to the zip folder and press command+o on it. this will unzip the folder. Now, in this case, you will notice the zipped and unzipped copies. Put the zipped version in the trash, if you wish. HTH. Sincerely, The Constantly Barefooted Ray!!! Click the download button to see the download list. Once the fileis downloaded, open it in the usual way, it should unzip and create the folder on its own. Al, or probably Ricardo ha ha When I am editing some vocals in garage band and trim off the first 6 seconds or something, how do I move the remainder of the clip to start at the beginning? Re: Downloading bard books with the mac
Thank you to Ray and Mike, I now understand how to access the downloads, the progress, and how the book is extracted, which is a very simple process. Your patience and explanations helped a lot in this matter, and makes me quite glad that I can now use the mac for yet one more thing, I don't need the VM to accomplish. Time Capsule and backing up
Hello listers, My family was considering investing in a time capsule. I had purchased an USB external hard drive for my mac but I cannot get time machine to continue backups on it. I can reformat the hard drive then it MIGHT back up if I am lucky. However, it will not back up again. Anyways, we are also looking at time capsule because we have several computers. My husband had read reviews and some people have a lot of trouble with the time capsules and there were lots of complaints of the hard drives crashing and they lost all of their data. Can you please share your experiences with Time Capsule or a good alternative to backing up our computers. I would much appreciate it. Can't wait to hear this. The Macbook pro's are all solid machines. I've a 2009 model, still blowing and going, and just upgraded my Ram and HD. It'll be nice to hear about the new models, still. Wireless network config advice
Hi all, We have the airport extreme with multiple devices wirelessly accessing it. Does anyone have tech guidance on how best to configure our network. I guess my top question is, the devices that can only access wireless G, should they only be connected to the 2.4ghz network? I've had this wireless network set up for a few months now, with little issues. It has only been in the last few days that our tv has trouble streaming netflix. Now, I get that this could be a myriad of issues, but it got me wondering if I could do anything to improve our network. Netflix has been having issues with streaming in recent days due to extreme heat on the east coast so it may not be a problem with your tv. RE: Downloading bard books with the mac
thank you for this explanation, I have done this before following the instructions from Mike Arrigo's pod cast, but this puts it out in a written form. One question to all and yes this is do simply too lazy behavior I do not remember how to book mark a website on safari can someone please remind me? From: macvisionaries@googlegroups.com [mailto:macvisionaries@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of Ray Foret Jr Sent: Sunday, July 01, 2012 10:01 To: macvisionaries@googlegroups.com Subject: Re: Downloading bard books with the mac Okay. Navigate to http://www.twitter.com Sign in, and then press Vo Space on the link that is your name. You'll be taken to your profile page. From there, you can activate the web item rotor with Vo+U, and choose the account link. then, near the bottom of the page, there's a "deactivate account" link. This should give you what you need.
