Re: Google Reader

2012-06-22 Thread David Hole
Hi.

As a many year user of GReader, I'll try to help you out.

1. To go direct to the Google Reader, you can go to
http://www.google.com/reader.
Put an "/m" at the end of the URL to get to the mobile version wich
only can be used for reading, and wich I am using as startpage of all
my browsers to stay updated with all new stuff I've subscribed to.

2. When entering the Reader page, you should find a button called
"Subscribe".
When pressing it, you get a textbox where you shall write the URL for
the RSS-feed. Then tab to the "Add"-button and press it.
Then you have your first subscribtion.

3. Somewhere under settings, you should also be able to import OPML-
files wich you can export from other RSS-readers so you don't need to
manually add everything each time you change RSS reader.

4. If you use Chrome, and click on an RSS-button in a blog or wherever
you can find it, Chrome pops up a window asking if you'd like to
subscribe with Google Reader.

I think that's something to start with.
Just ask if there's more you'd like to know 'bout this .-)

-David

Thanks in advance for your most gracious help!

Re: IPhone mailbox creation

2012-06-22 Thread Kawal Gucukoglu
Hello Jonny.

Here are the instructions to what you need.

1. Go to your mail folders list.

2. Press the edit button on your I phone.

3. Swipe right until you hear Voice Over say create mailbox.

4. Press enter by double tap or the enter key on your bluetooth keyboard.

5. Type in desired name of mailbox and left flick or swipe or use your
bluetooth keyboard to go left until you hear done button. However before you
do that, make sure you have the new mailbox in your preferred location. For
example, I have all my mailboxes in my Icloud server.

Best of luck.

Kawal.

Command ~ switches between windows so you should be able to switch to
each of those other windows and then hit command W to close them. I'm
still getting used to having apps re-open with all the documents I had
before still open. Used to be I just quit the app and I was done. Now I
have to remember to do a quick command-w and then command-q or I start
accumulating open documents in my app.

Re: Is the Mac Voiceover list on freelist.org active anymore? Because I get the following

2012-06-22 Thread Esther
Hi Matthew and Daniel,

I don't subscribe to the macvoiceover list, but as far as I know it's still
active. I can go to the info page at:
http://www.freelists.org/list/macvoiceover
And I can check the archive link at from there and see recent posts which
include posts made today:
http://www.freelists.org/archive/macvoiceover/recent
Maybe one of the current subscribers to that list can give you more
information. Keith Reedy used to be in charge of that list, I thought. But
from the reply that Daniel got, I'd guess his request for subscription just got
forwarded to the list admin, the same way this happens for the macvisionaries
and viphone lists.

HTH. Cheers,

Esther

Creative Writing Apps?

2012-06-22 Thread CJ Daniel
Hello All,

I'm considering the purchase of a creative writing application from the App
Store. I've had Pages for a while & find that it is not what I'm looking for.
So, I've done some research & come up with some candidates. I'm considering
these three applications. I.E. Manuscript, Scrivener, or Ulysses. I'm
wondering if anyone can comment on the accessibility of these or any other
creative writing applications for use on the Mac with VoiceOver.

Many thanks in advance,

CJ

notation

2012-06-22 Thread Scott Erichsen
Hi all,

I'm wondering if anyone has found a way to create printed musical notation
from the mac/iOS?

I have windows available to me, but I'd rather not use it if I didn't have
to.

I've had a play with Lillypond but it seemed extremely complex considering
what I want to do.

I honestly wish the music programs like Sibelius were accessible. Voiceover
just crashes when I try and use it.

I have used Sibelius under windows and it works well, but under a VM which
is how I have windows set up on my laptop, I'm not sure how it would work
and I need it to be perfect.

Also if anyone has suggestions for an iOS app that might be worth looking
at, I'd really appreciate it.

If no one has any ideas I'll keep researching and let everyone know what I
find.

Thanks.

Scott

Re: Google Reader

2012-06-22 Thread David Hole
Hi.

Yes, I use the mobil version for reading, since there are just the
reading functionality I need when I open my browser, and I have to go
through a list of all new items.
I think you'll find what fits bet for your needs :-)

I haven't had any sample feeds in my reader. It can be that I made my
reader account when Reader was so new.
Try go to settings and the subscriptions tab.
There you can mark and delete subscriptions.

Hope that works.
