Re: itunes and ripping cds
Hi Denise! When you put your cd into rip, hopefully vo said something like selection replaced maybe twice! Then you got the album track listing and you interacted with it! As Itunes imports each track, it will change to converted, in that list! After it's finished if you go to your library and find the album there it should read as normal! And the listing where you saw this should have gone! So this is normal and will happen on all cd's you rip! As for your not getting those tracks for that well known album see if when your on that album in the vo+shift+m menu the retrieve track names helps you! And do you use the LCD window when your importing because that tells you each track as it imports it! hth Colin On 28 May 2011, at 08:28, Denise Avant wrote: > Hello all, > i have recently tried ripping a couple of cds. the first two seem to be ok. > however, on the third cd, whose titles were all recognised, the word > converted is in front of all of the names of the songs can anyone tell me > what this means? > thanks. > > -- > You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups > "MacVisionaries" group. > To post to this group, send email to macvisionaries@googlegroups.com. > To unsubscribe from this group, send email to > macvisionaries+unsubscr...@googlegroups.com. > For more options, visit this group at > http://groups.google.com/group/macvisionaries?hl=en. > -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "MacVisionaries" group. Re: wonder what this is?
Hi, That's an auto webspot. Voiceover picks places on a web page for you that it thinks are important and lets you navigate to them just as you would a heading or a table. I've not found it to be all that intuitive myself, though I sure do like setting my own webspots. So far voiceover has the nicest implementation of this feature that I've tried. It's incredibly handy. Hope this helps. Hi, its the same thing regardless. I don't think you would have to do anything in system preferences though because the mini doesn't have a built in mic to begin with. So, nothing to switch. Re: itunes and ripping cds
hi, let's see if i can explain the issue a little better. with regard to the well-known album, at what point do i need to have it tell me the names of the tracks. i did review the lcd section, and it would say importing track 01 or track 02. so should i have done something before hand. as for the other cd, i told it to import, and as i say, when i read the title of the songs, it says converted - name of song. i had not noticed this with my first two efforts as they turned out well. so again, maybe i skipped a step. any further assistance would be appreciated. Re: gmail labels and iOS Devices
Hello, Sarai and all, Log into your Google account, go to mail, and then to "settings." Go to "filters" and if you want your messages not to appear in the Inbox, check the box in each filter that says "skip Inbox" Basically, labels are analogous to Mailboxes on the Mac, and filters are analogous to rules. Once you have the labels/mailboxes set up, you use filters/rules to tell Gmail which mailbox to put the mail into. Another Accessible iPhone App for Jazz Lovers
Hi list, Not sure if this has been put up on the accessible apps list on lioncourt.com or maccessibility.net, but for anyone who is a fan of jazz music, Toronto's all jazz station, Jazz FM 91 has a fantastic app for iOS. The app lets you listen, buy songs on iTunes, play music as you surf in the background and even tells you about nearby jazz festivals. the app is largely focused on Canadian jazz listeners, but if you are outside Canada, you can stream some great music. The app is free and fully accessible. One bug I have found is that the Airplay feature also routes VO speech to the Airplay device. Kind of annoying, but works in a inch. Another Itunes question
*grin* Hi everyone and happy Saturday. I have yet another Itunes question. I've created a couple of play lists. But how do I put songs in them? I thought I had stumbled on how to do it earlier this morning when trying to do something else, so figured I would come back and do that later. Well, now it's later and I apparently forgot exactly how I did it. VO-Shift-M on the song you want to put in the playlist. Select "Add to Playlist". You'll find a submenu with your playlists in it. Select the appropriate playlist. Re: Another Itunes question
Hi, One simple method is to navigate to the song you wish to add then press VO-shift-m which brings up the contextual menu. Choose "Add to Playlist" and then your specific playlist from the submenu. You can also use Drag and Drop to perform this task although I find the former method easier for me. Thanks. Re: itunes and ripping cds
Denise, Usually, the iTunes ripping CD process is very simple, you just put the CD in and iTunes does the rest automatically. I don't think that you've done anything wrong, it just wasn't recognizing your CD for some unknown reason. Could be a corrupt portion of the CD, interruption in your Internet connection. Later... Re: itunes and ripping cds
Hi Dennise, Yes, when you rip a CD, the file is converted to say an MP3 file. This willl happen to each track until all the tracks have been converted. When you rip a CD, you want to check this to be sure all the tracks have been converted successfully. Re: itunes and ripping cds
Hi Dennise, If you do not see the track names, you need to go to your preferences in Itunes and click on track name. If the tracks are on the Gracenet datebase, they will be imported. If not, you will be notified that they are not on the datebase. This of course means that someone has not entered them yet. Re: is this normal? waking mac does not find wireless network
Hi, i'm wondering if your Keychain Item for your wireless is corrupt or damaged in some fashion. Try this: 1. Go to the Finder. 2. Press cmd-shift-u to open the Utilities folder. 3. Locate the Keychain Access app and open it. 4. Navigate to the Keychains Table, Interact With it and select the "system" item. 5. Stop Interacting and navigate right to the Categories Table.. 6. Interact with it and select the All item. 7. Stop Interacting with it and navigate once right to the Table of items. 8. Navigate through them until you find the one that corresponds to the name of your wireless network. 9. Press the Delete key. You will need to confirm and likely enter an Admin password. Quit the Keychain Access app, close the Utilities window then press VO-m-m to go to the Status menus. You then navigate to the Airport menu and choose your network. It should ask for your password at which time you can enter it and check the box for remembering this in your Keychain. Beyond this, I would need to know if your wireless is WPA, WPA2 or WEP. HTH. Re: how do I find aps!
Hello, Tammy and all, You can find any apps you download by doing the following: go to the finder and type command-shif-a to go to your apps folder. Press s in the list and skype should be there. While there, you can press command-shift-t to add it to your dock. FYI, you can also add items to your dock while they're running by going to the item in the dock, pressing vo-shift-m to go into the contextual menu, going to options, and right-arrowing into its submenu, and choosing "add to dock. Apple TV trouble
Good evening all, A friend of mine is having trouble with her Apple TV. When she goes to order a movie from the iTunes store in the "Top movies" section of Apple TV, she gets a message saying "downloading," and then it takes a solid 2 hours before the movie is ready to watch. I've never had this problem -- once I order up a flick, it's ready to watch instantly. Has anyone else experience what my friend is experiencing, and if so, how can she fix the problem?
