A jingle I recorded for a client. All done on a Mac in Pro Tools 9.
Hey folks. Just got through with this jingle I wrote for a client. I was going for that late 70's early 80's Smooth Jazz feel. Besides the fact that the mastering bus is a tad over compressed, let me know what you guys think. Be aware that my strengths are in writing, arranging, lead and backing vocals, keys, drum programming, sound shaping and design. I'm not a mix or mastering engineer. I hate mixing. If I had a Preset called "Late 70's bob James," I'd use it. If I had a budget for hiring a mix engineer, I'd do it in a heartbeat. Needless to say, I am extremely proud of the arrangement and performances. All was recorded and mixed in Pro Tools 9. All sounds except for the drums were stock. Some of them are less than desirable, but for now, they'll have to do. The drums I used was the free Drumcore kits. Anyway, looking forward to hearing your thoughts. http://www.kevinreeves.net/WeTalk.mp3 Enjoy. Weird Folder Setup
Hi. I've been having a little bit of an issue opening files and attaching them in Mail. The way I had it before, all I had to do was shift tab and go to the side bar and select where I want to open a file from, then I go to where my files and folders are. When I come across a folder, I was able to right arrow and I see all my files there. Now when I go to my list of my files and folders, I can't right arrow into my files. I have to expand the folder to see my files which is kinda not acceptible because when I attach files in mail, I get a mail busy message. I changed views and nothing changed. How do I fix this problem? Shawn -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "MacVisionaries" group. Re: prismo on the IPhone
Hello Erik, I've had very good results with Prizmo on my iPhone 4 both in English and French. First of all, you can use a voice command to take the picture which reduces the risk of blurring the image. Also, you have to have a headset plugged in because the sound comes through the phone speaker as when you have the phone to your ear. Then there are some tricks to taking a good picture. Make sure there is enough light (I use the Light Detector app for this). The phone will need to be at least 6 inches (15 cm) above the page to get reasonable results. It takes some practice, but it gets easier the more you use it. Cheers, Anne On 9 May 2011, at 18:19, erik burggraaf wrote: > Hi, has anyone gotten prismo to work on the ITouch or the IPhone? Re: Weird Folder Setup
Dear Shawn, I looked at the Attached Files dialogue box, which is the same as the OPEN dialogue box. On my IMac I was able to right arrow on folders in the " Files and Folders Table". There are three modes listed in the dialogue box. The first is Icon mode. I was unable to right arrow in Icon mode. The other two were List Mode and Column Mode. In both List and Column mode I was able to simply right arrow to explore the contents of a Folder. I hope this helps. Re: prismo on the IPhone
To clarify, Sandy posted to the viphone list. I haven't verified, but don't believe she's subscribed to Macvisionaries. I will copy one of her posts below which should help any interested party to get started. Supplemental to Ann's comments, I have no light perception and can report getting some results using Prismo on my 3GS. I'd never depend on it to read a bill or contract, but can often get the gist of a page. Considering the much lower resolution of the 3GS camera, this is very impressive and infinitely better than my results with the SayText, SmartScan or DocScanner apps. Blogspot audio Captcha and Safari
Hi ALl, I was recently attempting to post a comment on a blog via my Google account, which prompted me for word verification. I was happy to see an audio alternative offered, but was frustrated when clicking on the link yielded nothing. I tried several times, in different ways, including with the VO-shift-space command to simulate a mouse click. In the end I still had no audio. I'm wondering why this particular audio isn't playing properly? It does under Windows, which leads me to believe there's some browser-specific design going on. I installed the Flip4Mac plugin, so if it were playing a Windows Media file for some reason I'd think it would just work. ANy thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated. Only two suggestions from me. After you sing the line, "Hey everybody, ain't no more waiting", you take a breath. I, personally, would kill the breathing, as it doesn't appear anywhere else in the jingle, and is not really necessary. Second, I can't hear what you say before you say "Jackson". RE: mac question
Hi Sean. I'm pretty sure that by power Mac he meant one of the higher-end macs as opposed to a lowe end one such as the plain old MacBook. Personally, I think the MacBook is higher end than any PC I've ever had as far as performance and eas of use are concerned, and I have had some good ones. My advice would be to try to max out the ram and get a decent speed processor and plenty of harddrive space. Of course, if you want other goodies like an SD card slot, etc., a MacBook Pro would be the way to go. I have a Macbook, and I don't mis the SD card slot and stuff like that. Re: mac question
Shawn, Boy the Power Mac brings back some memories. The MacBook Pro would be the way to go. A Power Mac I'm sure was not what this person meant since a Power Mac was an older Mac and I'm talking back before APple switch to Intel chips. So, if your friend wants a notebook, a MacBook Pro would be the machine of choice. On May 9, 2011, at 4:50 PM, Shawn Krasniuk wrote: > Hey all. Re: Weird Folder Setup
Dear Shawn, To clarify, are you referring to the Open and Save dialogs and such, or to Finder windows? Either way, my own experience with column mode is a bit different. I never get the "Date Modified" except in List mode. I'd double check your settings. I never have to interact with the file browser, either, just make sure my cursor is actually on it. from that point, arrow keys work as expected. Best, Zack. serial braille displays
Hi all. Has any one had any success using VO with a serial bralle display. I use abraille note classic with a serial-to-USB adaptor on my...cough cough...Windows machine for my job. return, new line, go away please
Hi all. I've noticed that when I have atext file open and punctuation set to all, VO says return new line at the end of each line that doesn't wrap but has a hard line break. This is driving me buggy, but I need the all punctuation setting to read through code in a book about C. Would someone please tell me how to make this stop if there is a way? I noticed it doesn't do this in this email message. This could have something to do with the fact that this text file was created from a pdf on a windows machine using Adobe reader.
