RE: How do I get 2 Virtual machines to communicate? Please! help!
Hi Mathew, So let me get this right. Your running server 2k8 on netbooks? Or on / in Virtual machines? And your trying to make them a domain controller and a child domain of that parent domain. Are they both on the same IP range? Have you setup the parent domain machine first? Then make the child a member of the domain. More importantly what networking type have you got your VM's setup with? >From memory I had my domain setup that I could ping each machine first then I setup the domain one machine after another... I have a feeling from memory that they were setup in host networking mode. But I'll have to check that over the weekend. Also, I'm hoping your joking about having server 2k8 on a netbook that to me is very cool, but really nuts. Do you have any documentation on what your doing? I do have a server 2k8 course manual from Microsoft that I might be able to send you if you need it. Or we could do a swap on docuementation. Let me know if I can help. simon -Original Message- From: macvisionaries@googlegroups.com [mailto:macvisionar...@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of Matthew Campbell Sent: Friday, 26 March 2010 4:59 a.m. To: macvisionaries@googlegroups.com Subject: How do I get 2 Virtual machines to communicate? Re: pages : saving in original format
Hello William, I haven't found a facility in Pages to save in the original format, but I find that it is always set to the last format used. Since all the documents I work on in Pages are Word documents, I never have to change this setting. Re: How do I get 2 Virtual machines to communicate? Please! help!
Hello Simon. Thanks for your reply. THey are on the same IP range, I've set up the parent first, In short, I've done everything you've suggested but there is still no connectivity between the 2 machines. I am serious, I have ben trying to do this with 2 netbooks with a cross over cable connecting the 2 and I can't get them to connect either. What do you mean by making the child a member of the parent domain? Just so I'm clear. The documentation that I am using is the Microsoft textbooks that we were assigned not sure of the name off hand though. Thanks again for the suggestions. Matthew Campbell. Re: Audio Hijack?
You sem to be having some very strange problems. Perhaps you have a corrupted preferences file for AHP? Have you tried removing it? 1. Go into the Preferences folder which is in your Home folder's Library folder. I think it is called rogueameba, plist. You need to make sure that AHP is closed I think before you remove it. Also, I would make a copy of it first and then delete it. Skype again
Hi guys, I'm going to moan about the same Skype problem as before. Using Clisk provides a more interesting perspective, though. When I have about three people already in the call, including myself, I have issues using the "Add to conference" in the contextual menu of a contact. Nothing happens when I hit it. However, if they call me and I join them via Clisk, it works fine by using the "join" command. Previously, before the update to Clisk 2.10, it would error when doing this. However, what happens regardless of the update is that it will put people on hold when using the "addcall" command. Now, here's the thing. How come it doesn't work? It's really annoying, and Skype support is not playing ball with me. Hi, I don't think it's Clisk, since it only enables you to use Skype through a command line interface, and allows additional features such as joining a call. That is not implemented into the GUI for some reason. I haven't always been using Clisk, and I've always had the problem. All I know is that it's getting very annoying. Re: Skype again
Hi, Well, using the command "join" when you can't use the regular invite feature when someone is not calling you from Skype menu seems to cause some serious symptoms. Of course, the "join" command is only to add someone to the call who is already calling you, but after use, the following happens to the "Add to conference" command which can, for clarification, only be used to add someone to the call who is not in the call already. 1. When trying to add someone into the conference through the GUI after aforementioned issue, the menu item is dimmed. 2. When dropping the conference to add people again through the GUI interface after being unable to add more people than two, Skype will put the caller on hold while calling the other party in a separate call. This sounds really serious at this point. And there has to be a reason for this many complications, even without Clisk. I say that because, when I have added people from the contextual menu, it has either been dimmed as well or not performed the desired action. This is when not using Clisk. To me, that sounds like a big concern. Is it hardware? I wouldn't think so. I say that because I know several people with the same type of Mac, and not experiencing the same problems. I also tried reinstalling Skype after removing all settings and preferences left behind. All the same. And I have the latest Skype. Re: Audio Hijack?
Hi Sarah, Have you installed all the necessary plugins? You can install them by going to the Audio Hijack menu and then opening the "Install Plugins" option. Re: scannerdrivers for the mac
Hi William, According to the Plustek website, there is no Mac driver support for either of the scanners opticbook 3600 or 4600, which is a shame, since they are such excellent scanners. Fw: Toktumi Service
- Original Message - From: "Toktumi Support" To: "'Hank Smith'" Sent: Friday, March 26, 2010 4:42 PM Subject: Toktumi Service Dear Toktumi Subscriber, As some of you may be aware, Toktumi has been the recipient of some very positive publicity this week in the popular press. The New York Times, CNBC, and others have extolled the virtues of Toktumi and in particular of Line2 for the iPhone, the latest version of our application for the wildly successful Apple smartphone. While all publicity is nominally good, the attention that these notices has attracted has not all been to our benefit. Now that we are on the international radar screen, certain entities have been using automated systems to try to create toktumi accounts at the rate of tens of thousands per hour. Obviously our systems were not designed to handle this, and our servers have gotten severely bogged down trying to process all these requests. We have temporarily stopped all new Line2 sign-ups as a result until we can identify and eliminate the source of the automated sign-up system. Toktumi’s number 1 goal is to provide top-quality service to all of our customers. We are working around the clock to rectify this situation. We apologize for any inconvenience this situation may cause you. Thanks, Peter Sisson CEO -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "MacVisionaries" group.
