question 2 for mail with Voiceover
hello everybody, I have a 2nd question to do with Mail. Basicly can you create message rules with voiceover? And is it the same sort of thing you do in windows to create them? Hope to hear from you all soon. Thanks Daniel -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "MacVisionaries" group. Re: question 2 for mail with Voiceover
Daniel, Yes you can create rules using voice over. I am fairly new to the mac myself but the way I did it is by opening the preference menu in mail, interacting with the tool bar and choosing the rule option. you can navigate with VO right to the criteria options, interact with th this option, choose your criteria. once you've done that, stop interacting and VO right till you find the action option and proceed the same way and then click OK. hope this makes sense to you. Safari and bookmarks
Morning, guys, When I add a bookmark with COmmand-D, I usually add it to the "Popular" popup menu. This is only because I usually prefer to keep things neat and organized, though I haven't taken the time to figure that out yet. :) Well, a question for you all. Does anyone know if it is actually possible for Safari to complain if you already have a duplicate bookmark in the same location? Otherwise, if you forget you already bookmarked something, you end up with a few of at least the same bookmarks. At least, that is the case for me. I see a few bookmarks that are exactly the same with same title and URL. That just sounds like wasted space. And I seriously doubt anyone can remember every single bookmark. Especially if you have hundreds of them organized into different folders. creating website with v o
Hi Folks. I'm thinking of creating a new website for a little project. I tried iweb but it wasn't very accessible to start with. I can't for example not see wich design to select at the first stage when crating a new site. Have anyone out there any tips for using iweb, or recommendation for software to create webpages without hacking html code? Skype and input volume
Hi guys, Well, sadly this issue has come up again. :( In Skype, there is no checkbox like in Windows to stop Skype from changing your volume. Now, you can do this in the following file, however. ~/library/application support/skype/shared.xml under the "VoiceEng" section. There used to be an item called "AGC" (Automatic Gain Control) which, if set to 0, would result in no changes made to adjust the volume accordingly to loud noises. Now, this doesn't seem to be the case. In Skype 2.8.0.851 this section seems to have been removed, seemingly, as this .xml file governs some Skype settings, which probably makes it impossible to change now. You could also adjust the volume to above 100 percent, in case some microphones were not particularly audible even at that level. This often helped if some microphone drivers (such as the drivers for the latest Skype FreeTalk Headset with their new design) had volume issues which it severely does. Now, this used to be easy to change as well. But now, some new values seem to have been added in. Can anyone tell me what they mean? Hi, Well, it has to be a value recognized by the program in the first place. Which means, if it's not in there already, it's probably going to be recognized as a non-standard value and be either ignored, or continuously error. Re: transferring large files
Did you get this figured out? Do both boxes have internet access to each other or are the close enough you can connect them together? OSX has built-in FTP, file and web servers so, as previously suggested, if you can get them networked you have a number of options to get the job done. CB Jim Gatteys wrote: Hi all! Re: cleaning a Mac DVD drive
I'd put this into the category of "if it isn't broken don't fix it" Compressed air can contaminate all kinds of mechanicals inside the tiny device and cleaners may or may not make things better. Re: Link issue in MacVisionaries?
Hi Mani, If you are using the Google Groups web site for the MacVisionaries list and having difficulty with the link, may I suggest that you use the secondary Mail Archive site instead? The URL is: http://www.mail-archive.com/macvisionaries%40googlegroups.com/ By default, the site will appear in threaded view. To switch over to time-ordered items (most recent posts first), press: Control-I. (For Safari on the Mac with VoiceOver enabled). The access key combinations, their mnemonics, and their actions for Safari are: Control-I (items) Display items in time (posting) order, most recent first Control-C (content) Display posts organized by content (threaded), most recent first Control-N (next) Show the next post in a thread Control-P (previous) Show the previous post in a thread Control-F (forward)Show the next post chronologically in time Control-B (back) Show the previous post chronologically in time Currently, Joel's post is near the top of the time-ordered list. Just navigate to the link and VO-Space. If you want to read up or down a threaded post, just use Control-P or Control-N. You can also run searches by typing your search terms in to the text box. I generally only use the Google Groups web page for lists, like the viphone list, which have not been set up to be archived at the Mail Archive. Joel's post works perfectly well from the Mail Archive page. HTH.
