Most recent version of mplayer

2020-07-18 Thread dan d.

The currentt version in macports is 1.3 for mplayer. For a couple years now
there is a 1.4 version available. from the developers.

A couple of times I have asked the mmaintainer about the possibility of getting
the current version with no response.

What is possible for getting the latest version in macports?

Port mplayer-devel is from the same code base, but it is based on recent
SVN versions, not release versions. Therefore it is more recently updated
than version 1.4. Will mplayer-devel be satisfactory for your application?

KDE windows (kalarm) -- un-switchable-to, un-clickable (unpredictably)

2020-07-18 Thread Agoston Bejo
Hi!

I have managed to install kdepim4 on MacOS 10.14.6 (on a MacBook) to be
able to use Kalarm. I have come pretty far (jumped through the hoops
described at wiki:KDE so the window
content doesn't flicker anymore etc.).

Right now my problem is the following: it seems that the pop-up alarm
windows (and in general, all Kalarm windows) more often than not seem to
behave as if something was in front of them - they receive neither keyboard
nor mouse input. (If I switch to a completely different application then
back to the problematic window, that sometimes solves this and I can at
least close it -- but even then, they are not brought in front of their
parent window. I can always move them with the mouse though!)

E.g., in the screenshot I can't click on the edit window (which is a child
of the alarm window), nor on the alarm message window, nor on the main
Kalarm window (bottom right)

It would be great to solve these issues, because aside from these Kalarm
seems to work pretty fine!

The first step when you want a port to be updated should be to file a ticket in
the issue tracker. I didn't see one so I filed one for you:

MacPorts 2.6.3 has been released

2020-07-18 Thread Joshua Root
The MacPorts Project is pleased to announce the release of version
2.6.3. This is a bugfix release with small changes only. See the
ChangeLog [1] for the list of changes.

If you already have MacPorts installed, the preferred method for
updating is to run:

  sudo port selfupdate

For new installs, there are also package installers available for macOS
versions ranging from 10.15 all the way back to 10.4 (10.6 is universal
i386/x86_64; 10.5 and 10.4 are i386/ppc, the rest are x86_64) at [2].
The source is also available as tarballs compressed with gzip or bzip2,
or from the git tag [3].

Detached PGP signatures for the disk images, packages and source
tarballs have been made with my key, which is available on the
keyservers and my MacPorts wiki page [4], the fingerprint being:

Re: MacPorts webapp project updates

2020-07-18 Thread Mojca Miklavec
Hi,

I just figured out that we forgot to send this email to the users mailing
list, it only went to developers.

Arjun has done an awesome job improving the work on the ports website as
part of a GSOC project.

We would be extremely grateful to get your feedback about
http://macports.silentfox.tech/
before it gets deployed to ports.macports.org.

Thank you very much,
Mojca

PS: Since last week when the message was written the splashscreen and the
dark mode have been implemented (among others).
