\bind not working on 1.4.0
Hi every body, I ve just check the 1.4.0 version, there are a lot diff than 1.3.4 and bugs too. I wnat to switch with F12 to another language, say arabic, so I uncomment the arabic part in lyxrc.example and I copied it to lyxrc (I used to do it without problem since 1.1.6 versiion), it is working on 1.3.4 but not 1.4.0, the \bind is not recognized. bad french interface
Hi, I installed the 1.3.6 on debian sarge without problem, but the 1.4.* version has a bad interface for the french characteres. There is no problem inside the window where we wrtite, the problem is in the menu, problem, I installed them exactly in the same environment, I mean I remove 1.4.3 installed 1.3.6 the interface is good , I remove the 1.3.6 and installed the 1.4.3 the interface is bad, whithout any change on the system. in the menu bar the 'é' in éditer or insérer are not printed the same problem in for example: Documents récents in fichier menu etc thank for help best regards bela Sponsored Link Try Netflix today! lyx don't work correctly on redhat 7.0
i every body, I have installed in my computer running redhat 6.O, serveral version of lyx with success, from lyx 1.0.4 to the newer one lyx-1.1.5fix2 (using tar.gz or RPM). Now i've bought the version 7.0 there is a problem : for 1.1.5fix2.-1.rpm , the istallation is possible but when you run lyx, the color of the rest of the application change and are dummed. With the version 1.1.5.rpm or 1.1.5-fix1.rpm, the istallation is possible but when you run lyx, it crashes error dump. I tried to to the source : with 1.1.5fix2.tar.gz the configuration is correcte for everything (in all the cases both redhat 6.0 or 7.0 i installed the forms library), but the command make gives error like : ../../src/LString.h:21: conflicting types for `typedef class lyxstring. I 've noticed that the problem with /usr/include/g++-3. or /usr/include/g++-3/string:9: previous declaration as `typedef class basic_string, __default_alloc_template > string' make[3]: *** [formula.lo] Erreur 1 this directory doesnot exist on the redhat version 6.0. how to get lyx 1.3.3 with xforms
hi, I would like to get lyx1.3.3 with xforms not qt. I have a problem in the arabic font on lyx 1.3.3. When I take the same file on lyx 1.1.6 and choose the arabic model, the arabic characters are correctly displayed in the screen ( lyx screen), but not on the lyx_1.3.3. The latex file exported is the the same . So the problem is in the font used in the lyx window I think, not sure of course, that the problem is in Qt-font instead of xforms. I had the same problem with my Redhat 7.0, I had
solved the problem by copying the foils from the
redhat 6.0 because the thz directory of foils in latex
dsitribution in redhat 7.0 is empty. So the problem is
in latex and not in lyx

how to use arabic fonts
hello sir, please would you help me. I send my message to many people no one answers. I use opera ( sometimes netcape) under Linux (redhat 7.0 and mandrake 8.0 ). When I try to enter arabic website, (for exemple : www.ahram-eg.com) I have font problem. On windows with net explorer, there is no problem. I check the configfuration of the explorer : no special font are defined : occidental alphabet. The arabic fonts (iso...6.8x ) are installed, I have no problem with Lyx , I can write arabic caracteres. It is nice. however there are some bugs , I think? I whish they
will be fixed in the next versions. (I use the latest
one 1.1.6 fix4 )
1.-- When you change a layout, say, the paragraph
style, the new opened window stays over the main
window, you must move to contnue inside the main one,
there is no possibility to minimize it. I
If you change the size of the second window (paragraph
window for example) yo ll have a problem, to give the
original size ).
2.--- pdflatex dosn't recognize the eps figure, the
possibility to include other format for those who want
a pdf output. Or perhaps this possibility exits; I
don't know .
3. The arabic (I speak about arabtex ) user have
several problems with the software :
Lyx saves several begin{ arabtex}, and end{arabtex}
Some letters don 't appear if you use, french
keyboard for example ). In my case I change the map to
the uk keyboard to get all the letters.
This perhaps needs an extra documentation.

\centering and \par
hi, I noticed that Lyx save the center paragraph with centering and at the end it adds \par. Is it possible to use instead \centerline and whitout \par command ? Because in the arabic environment \centering and \par are not recognized, and I must correct the texfile manually, to delete \par and change the centering. I want to change it in the source file paragraph.C, (see dekel remarks line:2595 lyx1.1.6fix4) but I don't know if the change affects other thing elsewere. hi, I 've installed the lyx 1.1.6 without problem in redhat 7.2. When I tryed to install the lyx-1.2.0-1.i386.rpm the following message is outed libstdc++-libc6.1-2.so.3 This library refers to and older version of redhat ( 6.x). Hi, I have installed the 1.2.0 version.(rpm ) I want to install the new one 1.2.1, it gives error and does not recognize the xforms, while it is installed. libforms.so.0.88 is needed by lyx-1.2.1-1 libstdc++-libc6.1-2.so.3 is needed by lyx-1.2.1-1 I add a soft link ln -s /usr/lib/libstdc++-libc6.2-2.so.3 /usr/lib/libstdc++-libc6.1-2.so.3 ln -s /usr/X11R6/lib/libforms.so.0.89 /usr/X11R6/lib/libforms.so.0.88 and install with --nodeps, the installation was correct but the program lyx does not run. Hi, every body I want to install the new release lyx-1.3.5, unfortunatly there is no binary for debian, I tied the fedora one, it gives an error (I 've sent a message to this list), someone said that compilation is done for RH, OK I agree but I had no problem to install lyx-1.3.3-1rh9_qt.i386.rpm on my debian sarge. Any way, I download the source in order to create my own binary I have a problem with Qt, but it installed, since the lyx-1.3.3 with Qt is running ?
