Hello.

I run the almost latest LyX version in Ubuntu, and it works great.

Now I've found an old LyX file, that uses some customized environments
and stuff (I had a .inc file in the .lyx configuration directory in my
old setup). The old file and setup is 17 years old, so my question is,
how do I get this file to work in my new LyX environment?

Should I just add the .inc file and fix errors that pops up when
trying to run lyx -e to export?

What is the inc file? I've been developing LyX for 17 years, and I'm not
sure what that is.

I guess it is a file that is included by a layout file, like e.g.
stdsections.inc.

How to place a figure and table side by side and aligned at the top in a figure float

2024-11-12 Thread Thomas Philips
I'm using LyX 2.3.8 and would like to place a small table (4 rows, 2 columns)
and a related figure side by side in a float. I started by inserting a figure
float into my document, and then inserted a figure (.png file) and a table
immediately following it into the float. I set the figure width to 8 cm to
leave plenty of space for the table. But when I export to pdf, the top of the
table and the top of the figure are not aligned - the table appears to the
right of the figure, but with its top roughly level with the bottom of the
figure. How can I position the two in one float with their tops aligned?

Sincerely and with many thanks in advance
Thomas Philips

Oh, right. Maybe pre-modules. That should also 'just work'.
