fancyhdr - multiple lines

2000-11-06 Thread Haase . Hartmut

Hi there,
I have created a header with 4 lines. That's o. k. so far, but text from
all pages exept the chapter pages reach into the header zone (~ 0.5 cm).
Does anyone know how to avoid this?
Regards,
Hartmut Haase

Put

\addtolength{\headheight}{40pt}

in the latex preamble (obviously you will want to alter the 40pt value to
suit your needs).

Ah, where exactly should this go?

Here's what I have now:

\layout Subsection

Books
\begin_inset LatexCommand \label{Add_Docs:Books}

\end_inset

\layout Bibliography

When I enter in the \renewcommand just after the \layout Bibliography line and
restart LyX, I get the following error:

LyX: Unknown token `\renewcommand'. Inserting as text. [around line 942 of file
~/trash/ara_sitedoc.lyx]
LyX: Unknown token `\bibname{}'. Inserting as text. [around line 943 of file

Put the \renewcommand in the latex preamble. If \bibname is not defined (such as for
article class), you
can try:
\renewcommand\refname{}

If you want to change the bibliography section header behaviour, you do like the
attached example, that
gives a numbered section, and a customised section name, but it is dirty!

Space in indexes between numbers and titles

2000-11-06 Thread Emanuele Gissi & Alessia Franceschi

Hi,

I have got a little problem: at the end of my document both chapter numbers and
figure numbers have 2 digits, as in chapter 15 figure 37. In the "List of
figures" the figure captions almost overlap their numbers (example 15.37).
I attach the PS file to better explain the result.
How to convince the caption to leave some more place to the 4 digits?

Thanks a lot, Emanuele.

You could use the tocloft package to fix this.

Thanks!

At this point, I'm willing to settle for just getting the "References" text to
not show up within the formatted document, preferably using Article Class.

Herbert Voss has been quite generous with help and suggestions, and his
solution is exactly what I wish to accomplish. However, it only exists within
the Book class. I'd prefer something which works in Article class since that
class has the features I really need.

Thank you,

$$OutName in \custom_export_command

ANNOUNCE - l2h update (v. 1.8)

2000-11-06 Thread Matej Cepl

Hi,

just to inform you, that I have finished l2h
(http://www.volny.cz/cepls/ps-pdf/l2h-1.8-1.noarch.rpm (3.9k) or
l2h-1.8.tar.gz (2.3k) in the same directory) to the state where
it is suitable to be included in LyX via \html_command.
Certainly, that it is NOT a replacement of tth (or LaTeX2HTML
etc.), but it is only shell for tth to prepare some parametrs
and postprocess result to be better HTML (so that not everybody
see on first glimpse, that it was originally LaTeX; just on the
second one :-).

Have a nice day

you have the same problemon the right side, when your figure-captions
are too long. remember that there is an option for short captions, which
are only valid for the lof.

writing resume/CV

2000-11-06 Thread Ronny Haryanto

Hi all,

I'd really like to produce my resume with LyX (latex is OK, but lyx is
better). However currently there's no document class for resume/CV in
my system.

I'm just wondering if anyone has any tips/tricks on producing
resume/CV with LyX or suggestions of good latex packages for making
resume/CV that I can use with LyX?

That brings up another question: Can I make any latex package work
with LyX? What makes a package incompatible with LyX?

Thank you in advance.

As it appears that there is no such option, should I file this as a bug
report? (Given that, after all, it _is_ possible to invert the screen
colors, the cursor should not be _necessarily_ black.)

I just put \usepackage{tocloft} in the preamble.
No, it does not seem to work in my case or I am
not able to make it working. I use the book (koma-script) class...
The little problem remains! Other ideas?

Emanuele.

PS I often discover wonderful packages in the TeTeX distribution.
But where can I find a description of what they do and how they work?
