Re: [Lubuntu-qa] 15.10

2015-10-17 Thread Phill. Whiteside
Hi,

while we await the release candidate to land, Julien has had a good bug
squishing period :)

As such, https://wiki.ubuntu.com/WilyWerewolf/ReleaseNotes/Lubuntu has been
edited accordingly, with a fuller section on bugs that will affect all
flavours.

As ever, please spell-check and make sure I've not missed anything out that
we should make people aware of.

Regards,

Phill.

Re: [Lubuntu-qa] 15.10

2015-10-17 Thread Simon Quigley
Hi,

The following two bullet points under New Features in Lubuntu 15.10 do not
sound right to me. Can you give them a second look?

   - The problematical iBus has now been replaced with Fcitx. With that
change the fonts for Chinese, Japanese and Korean have been added back into
   the build.
   - lubuntu-extra-sessions In the past, selecting different sessions
(netbook, gaming etc.) was installed by default. This is now an optional
extra that can be installed by those who want this added functionality.

Otherwise, I think that is it that I saw.

Hi Simon,

they are both correct.

Ohh...the first bullet now makes sense to me, as before it looked weird.

And shouldn't there be some sort of punctuation between
lubuntu-extra-sessions and "In"?

[Lubuntu-qa] Fwd: Wily RC Images rolling out to the tracker

2015-10-17 Thread Walter Lapchynski
initial release candidate on its way! time to start testing! with the
rebuild coming, this should give us some time to get any last minute issues
figured out. have we identified any low hanging fruit we could take care
of?

I'm kicking off builds of all flavours for "RC"(ish) images to the Wily
Final milestone on the tracker. These definitely won't be the last
builds (there will be at least one respin on Monday to flip the OFFICIAL
bit in the ISO names, include an updated base-files, and a last-minute
dpkg bugfix upload), but they're close enough for people to get testing.

The more bugs we hunt down with this set, the more we can get fixed on
or by Monday, and the fewer respins and less panic we have between now
and Thursday, so please get to testing!

My rule-of-thumb is this:-
http://releases.ubuntu.com/ Released iso images
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/ Non-final iso images

by testing, i mean using the images linked to the iso tracker and following
the test cases on there and reporting results there. formal, not informal,
testing.
