I had already posted a bug before but not sure upon the right package
though, but my bug is older than the Xubuntu's bug:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lxsession/+bug/1193409

should I link or mark as duplicate?

I think lubuntu-restricted-extras needs to be updated to the new
situation, where firefox replaces chromium-browser

Re: [Lubuntu-qa] Alpha 1 on the QA Tracker

2013-06-24 Thread Phill Whiteside
Hi Lance,

the cron job (auto-rebuild) of the lubuntu images has now been turned off.
The images on the tracker as of now can be considered as our A1's.

Regards,

Phill.

Please be patient. The "extras" and "addons" are not currently supported
by Lubuntu dev so it takes a while for these changes to take place ;^)

Just moments ago I asked about why the QA Tracker is not yet showing any
Alpha 1 tests for opt-in flavors. Remember we're only at Alpha 1 testing
and no finished product should be expected because we're NOT a true
rolling release.

But I am including Julien in the conversation so he can weigh in
regarding the need to change the "depends" and "recommends" regarding
'lubuntu-restricted' packages.

[Lubuntu-qa] Alpha 1

2013-06-24 Thread Phill Whiteside
Hi,

Crazy day with classroom sessions. As you may have read in the foot note to
an earlier e-mail the cron (daily build) for lubuntu has been stopped. The
system of doing alphas and betas has somewhat (!!) changed. Unless there
are critical and fixable errors, I do not envisage asking for a respin. We
are aware of the bug that stops you installing using the 'install Lubuntu'
icon from the LiveCD. It affects everyone and has appeared since they
tweaked the command it calls. It will get fixed, but is not the end of the
world for us, especially as we've been devoting time to using ZRAM :)

For all our testers, I'm well assured that you know your way around bug
reporting, but if you wonder what whoopsie and daisy are along with a
fantastic session from the head of Ubuntu-Bugs on the additional things
ubuntu-bug can do. There is also a new classroom on SRU's. Have a read of
the logs from todays classroom sessions[1]. (click on the topic to get the
logs)

We have an IRC meeting scheduled for Tuesday [2] Do pop along if you can,
the logs will be posted up if you cannot.

Keep Calm & Keep Testing!

Regards,

Phill.

[Lubuntu-qa] Installer bugs and ubiquity vs debian-installer

2013-06-24 Thread Jonathan Marsden
Phill,

At http://irclogs.ubuntu.com/2013/06/24/%23ubuntu-classroom.html#t21:10
I see:

> phillw For bugs that happen at install time, it can be a bit
> difficult to work out what to raise the bug against. 21:10
> phillw To this end, for testing of ISO's a quick list can be found at

> issue the command ubuntu-bug ubiquity

That is only true for LiveCD ISOs. For Alternate CDs, you would (I
think!) want to file the bug against debian-installer instead, because
that is what Alternate CD images use.

I'd guess the same holds for the netboot (mini.iso) installer, too.

So the Install_Bugs page is probably in need of an update.
