Hello,

I worked briefly on testing Lubuntu 12.04 before some of my hardware failed
last year, but I recently installed development versions of v13.04 on my
PPC Macs and Intel PCs.
Your group is doing a phenomenal job on Lubuntu, and I would like to help
spread the word.

I write a a technology column for a small Rockford, IL USA newspaper. I
plan on writing an article about Lubuntu, to be published Wednesday, April
24, 2013, the day before the anticipated release of v13.04.

What features do you suggest I highlight? Keep it simple, I only have 600
words for my column!
The focus of my article at this time plans to be that you can bring new
life to old hardware with a nimble, robust operating that comes complete
with practical applications.

Again, any suggestions for the Lubuntu article (scheduled for April 24) are
welcome. I would need your input by April 15, 2013.

Sincerely,

Paul Gorski

[Lubuntu-qa] Desktop, Alternate and flavours....

2013-02-21 Thread Phill Whiteside
Hi good people,

as we run through cadence testing, there does seem to be a lack of testing.
Can I ask that people do test out the DeskTop versions for lubuntu and
xubuntu as we seem to have a gremlin in ubiquity that may only affect our
Virtual Machines. Also when you take the time out to try the 'alternate'
ISOs for lubuntu, would you also please check out the basic ubuntu-server
ISO, as it is required for us to maintain support for the lubuntu-alternate
ISO series.

Regards,

Phill.

P.S. if anyone who is receiving this sort of email for the first time,
please have a read of both the below links and feel free to get in touch.

Hello Phill,

No doubt about it ;)
It is late here so once I will wake up tomorrow, I will prepare the text
which focus on the PCs and send it. As for the PPC part, you guys can fill
the blanks :)

Thanks!

P.S.
This is really great. The more interesting people, the happier I feel and
that is not the end, we will sooner or later reach to even more people :D

ignore ppc if we don't fix the recursive bug.

2013-02-21 Thread Phill Whiteside
Hi Jackson.

That bug will remain owing to apple having different systems from where
they could buy under aged kids to work in their 'factories', of which they
said that they were not in charge of.

It is more important that we tell people how to get around the issues for
those who bought them.

Regards,

Phill.
