Lincoln’s Reaction to the Massachusetts Government Act of 1774
The Parliament of Great Britain effectively repealed the 1691 charter of
the Province of Massachusetts-Bay when they passed the Massachusetts
Government Act on May 20, 1774. This act was intended to suppress dissent
in Massachusetts and restore order in Great Britain’s colony. Instead, this
revocation of the colony’s charter led directly to the start of the
American Revolution in April, 1775. Learn more about the exhibit here!

WE DID IT!!!

Hi Everyone,

We did it! I’m writing this at 1:44 a.m., right after the Associated Press has called the race and declared me the winner.

I’ve been up for almost 24 hours and want to write when I’m able to be more thoughtful, but wanted to make sure you know that we won and how very much I thank all of you.

We did it, all of us, working together with shared values to make sure that our Governor’s Councillor reflects the values of our district, so that we may have a more enlightened judiciary, with a justice system that is more just.

We did it

Take care,
Mara
