[LincolnTalk] Pumpkin Picking and Hay Rides this Weekend!

2022-10-07 Thread Matlock Farm
Hi Everyone,

This weekend, Lincoln’s own Matlock Farm will once again be hosting an
opportunity to enjoy a beautiful Fall day outside and get all your pumpkin,
squash, and decorative gourd-related needs taken care of.

The weather looks much better than last weekend, and there are a finite
amount of pumpkins (in 2020 we ran out in two weekends!) so don’t miss your
chance to get a locally grown jack-o-lantern and go for a relaxing hay ride
around our big field.

We’ll be open from 12-4 on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday at the field
adjacent to 28 Lexington Rd.

We hope to see everyone there!

[LincolnTalk] House painter - Hefer Santos

2022-10-07 Thread Deb Wallace
Hello LT-

A couple of days ago two people gave glowing recommendations for Hefer
Santos. I’d like to get in touch with him but apparently I copied down the
wrong number.
Would you whoever posted that post please send me the correct number.

Many thanks

[LincolnTalk] Looking for corn stalks

2022-10-07 Thread aaron beck
I’m looking to purchase 4-6 corn stalks for a project I’m working on for our
kids funhouse. I don’t need the corn part just an old corn stock will do.
Please let me know if you have one or know a farmer that might. Thanks.

[LincolnTalk] Join us for the end-of-season Lincoln Arts and Farmers Market

2022-10-07 Thread Jocelyn Finlay
Join us for the last Lincoln Arts and Farmers Market of the season tomorrow
(Saturday 8th October) 9am-1pm.

We may need to be a bit flexible on where we set up, but we won't be far
from our usual spot on the green at 145 Lincoln Rd, Lincoln MA.

Produce, cut flowers, jams and jellies, alpaca yarn, gift cards, headshots
in the park, and much more. Come see what its all about.

Pillar Farm flowers - margie.br...@gmail.com
Pre-order a flower arrangement with vase and pick up this Saturday, $10,
made by The Pillar Farm. Flowers include zinnias, dahlias, mint, ageratum,
globe amaranth, strawflower, and more! Send your order to
margie.br...@gmail.com by Friday Oct 7th. Arrangements made on Saturday
morning Oct 8th for pick up at Market.
Cheers :)

I will be late to the market this Saturday, I'll be starting 11am for
headshots in the park. Its a good idea to pre-book your photo session as
the Fall is a busy time for photos. I am taking bookings for Saturday
mornings in the park through October. Email me to book your time slot on
10/22 or 10/29 for the fantastic Fall colors. jefin...@gmail.com Details

[LincolnTalk] ISO: Battery-powered tea lights

Update on possible trapped turtle:
After calling Lindsay for the location, I got there about 3 pm and waded in.
Ryan and Will from the Conservation Commission arrived just after (impressively
prompt dispatch!) We did not see a turtle in the wire cage. However, nearby I
did see the muskrat in the attached photo, who thrashed about as I approached
it but seemed stuck in place. On closer examination, its long tail seemed
strangely entwined in stringy aquatic vegetation, as you can see in the photo.
I was able to slide that stuff off its tail. It then swam away, at first with a
strange corkscrew/twirling motion. Hard to tell whether that corkscrewing was
in celebration of release or a dysfunctional swimming method that got it
entwined in the first place.
We watched as it swam around a bit, including into and out of the wire
enclosure shown in Lindsay's photo. Ryan and Will judged it to be a small,
presumably young, muskrat. When sticking its nose out of the wire enclosure, it
looked a lot like the creature shown in Lindsay's photo, so maybe that's what
was sighted? In any event, if the muskrat couldn't free itself from where I
found it, I assume eventually it would have drowned or starved. So Lindsay's
alert probably saved this creature - yea!

The wire surrounds a beaver deceiver that allows water to flow and prevents the
beaver from building a dam.
