Installing Lilypond 1.4.12.jcn5 for Windows fails.
Hello, I've recently downloaded Lilypond 1.4.12.jcn5 (with 'setup.exe'). When I start Cygwin I get these messages: BASH: id: command not found BASH: mkdir: command not found BASH: /usr/bin/cat: Permission denied BASH: cd: /home/unknown: No such file or directory unknown@DEFAULT /usr/bin$ Windows also tells me it can't find 'cygintl-1.dll'. Can anyone tell me what's wrong ? I had Lilypond 1.4.9.uu1 running and that worked fine. I deleted c:\cygwin and it's subdirectories and then ran 'setup.exe' and selected 'install'. It looks like a number of packages didn't get installed, but I don't know why that could be. Did you download the latest setup.exe when you did this? You can try to rerun setup.exe, and see to it that all packages are selected and installed. > I had Lilypond 1.4.9.uu1 running and that worked fine. (this worked when I upgraded from 1.4.8 to > 1.4.9.uu1) Yes, this should work, although it should not be necessary; rerunning setup.exe should upgrade smoothly. Anyway, could you please send your setup.log and setup.log.full? These may be in your / (or c:/cygwin) directory, but for later setup.exe's they are put in the directory you run setup.exe from. Font Troubles
Hello! I've wrestled all evening with Ghostscript, Lilypond, TeX, LaTeX, and Denemo. For the life of me, I cannot get Lilypond to make *beautiful* sheet music. Not printed, not converted to PDF, not saved into a PostScript file, won't look nice in Ghostview, nor even seen from within The GIMP. I'm running RedHat 7.2 (fresh install as of a couple nights ago). Here are some relevant software versions -- I've used RPM files when available (Denemo wouldn't RPM -- I had to compile): GNU LilyPond 1.4.11 GNU Denemo version 0.5.9. TeX (Web2C 7.3.1) 3.14159 kpathsea version 3.3.1 GhostScript version 6.51 GIMP version 1.2.3 I downloaded and tried to install some more fonts, but the accompanying README.txt file explained only where to point certain files from the following archives: fetatype1-1_4_10.tgz fetatype1common.tgz I managed to find feta16.pfa and friends floating around the Internet, and "installed" them into: /usr/share/ghostscript/Resource/Font/ But my installation was simply "copy and rename". However, after doing so, Ghostscript stopped complaining that it couldn't find "feta16". Something tells me this is not a happy thing to do. Please find attached a ZIP file containing the LY file I'm using, the PS file I produced, and a screen shot of the not-quite-beautiful resulting grandstaff. If it means anything, the midi file Lilypond creates sounds great! Thanks for any help you can give me in this matter.
