Hi,

please note that the commit deadline for 3.4.5-rc1 is postponed to
tomorrow (Tuesday), December 13, 2011.

It is one day later than it was originally planed. It is because the
release build machines are be busy with the delayed 3.5.0-beta1
release.

The branch libreoffice-3-4-5 is going to be created the day after. Only
commits with 3 reviewers will be allowed for that branch.

Don't forget to pull updated translations as well …

I did that this morning. Now I'm running a test build with all
languages. Then I'll push updates to git. Thanks for everybody who
worked on 3.4 translations. Many languages have made improvements
since 3.4.4. BTW 3.4.5 RC1 could be the final one, so probably I'll
not pull 3.4 translations again.

Best regards,
Andras

Ergo (latin for "so") we will never have a 3.4.x better translated
version!!! I dislike it!!! :-(

This is because 3.4.5 is the last 3.4.x release (!!!) as you could
verify here:

http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleasePlan#3.4_release

If I were you (!), I would have decided to integrate these last and
better (3.4.x) translation files and use the already planned 3.4.5-RC2
(that will be the last 3.4.5 public build and moreover the last 3.4.x
public build too and at all!!!) to fix always possible translation troubles.

http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleasePlan/3.4#3.4.5_release

This is also to give a thank (!!!) to all people that have spent their
time to improve them ("the translations"), isn't it? So that they don't
feel themselves unuseful or that you (we!) have made fun (or a fool) of
them! ;-)

Italian poet Gabriele D'Annunzio wrote in his famous house (The
"Vittoriale") in latin tongue: "memento audere semper" that is "[Always]
remember to try" or, if you want something different, "[Always] remember
to give a chance to something or someone"!!!

http://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Memento_audere_semper

However I know that stability is the "must have" for that release and
that all efforts have to be put asap on 3.5.0 release, but Community
have to be respected and gratified seriously, of course.

Keep attention not to make such a wrong step... ;-)

Have a nice eventing,

Carlo

[libreoffice-l10n] Italian user list seems to be broken or in busy state: what's the matter?

2012-01-12 Thread Carlo Strata

Hi Everyone,

Italian user list (us...@it.libreoffice.org) seems to be broken or in
some "busy state": what's the matter?

It may be since about January the 4th.

I don't know if this is the only one in this state (italian or other
languages).

Could someone check it or them and fix the trouble?

Thank you very much!

Carlo

I just checked, and the list seems to work fine. Not many messages coming
in, but the last one was from January 11th, sent by you:

To add on that: Looking at the logs: A couple of messages have been
rejected as SPAM, but judging from the sender-addresses
"do-not-re...@select2gether.com" or "norespon...@yahoo.com.es" or
"mrcostaakdam...@msn.com" those rejections seem to be legitimate.

But you might post a notice stating something "if you receive a
message stating that your post was rejected as spam, please send again
and cc the postmaster (@documentfoundation.org) address to evaluate
the reason".

But to state it clearly: I as well as Florian see nothing wrong with
the list - it just is a more silent list - not unusual for it to not
receive a post for a few days.

ciao
Christian

this means that the mailserver trying to deliver messages has been put
on several (external, non-TDF) blacklists, probably for sending out
spam. It is mainly your provider's duty to fix this problem. We need
to rely on blacklists for spam filtering.

In cases where your provider cannot help you, we can -temporarily-
whitelist the sending server. So, first is to ping your provider and
tell him he seems to be blacklisted due to spamming. In case that does
not help, the next time you receive such a message, please send a
direct note to postmas...@documentfoundation.org, with the date and
time of the original message, and we will investigate.

Sorry for any inconveniences,
Florian

Thank you all!

It happens sometimes that libero.it smtp is seen as spammer. This time
to Felix others to me. I'll keep in mind your suggestions.

I think too it's better to rely on blcklists for spam filtering! ;-)

Re: [libreoffice-l10n] [ANN] LibreOffice 3.5.1 RC1 available

2012-02-27 Thread Carlo Strata

Hi *,

for the upcoming new version 3.5.1, the RC1 builds now start to be
available on pre-releases. This build is slated to be one of two
release candidate builds on the way towards 3.5.1, please refer to our
release plan timings here:

  http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleasePlan#3.5_release

Builds are now being uploaded to a public (but non-mirrored - so don't
spread news too widely!) place, as soon as they're available. Grab
them here:

  http://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/pre-releases/

If you've a bit of time, please give them a try& report *critical*
bugs not yet in bugzilla here, so we can incorporate them into the
release notes. Please note that it takes approximately 24 hours to
populate the mirrors, so that's about the time we have to collect
feedback.

The list of fixed bugs relative to 3.5.0 is here:

http://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/pre-releases/src/bugfixes-libreoffice-3-5-1-release-3.5.1.1.log

So playing with the areas touched there also greatly appreciated - and
validation that those bugs are really fixed.

Thanks a lot for your help,

Hi *, ;-)

just installed on my notebbok upgrading a LibreOffice 3.5.0 RC3, Linux,
x86-64. I got this message (I translate it from Italian):

carlobook:/home/carlo/Download/office/LibreOffice/LibO_3.5.1rc1_Linux_x86-64_install-rpm_en-US/RPMS
# rpm -Uvh *.rpm

Preparing...### [100%]
the file /opt/libreoffice3.5/ure/lib/libstdc++.so.6 conflicts
during the installation of the following packages:
libreoffice3.5-stdlibs-3.5.1-101.x86_64 and
libreoffice3.5-ure-3.5.1-101.x86_64

I can go on and got LibreOffice 3.5.1.1 (RC1, Linux, x86-64) installed
and running correctly using

/rpm -Uvh *.rpm --force/

My notebook is running
- OpenSuSE 12.1;
- x86-64 architecture;
- about a daily update;
- Linux kernel 3.1.10-4-desktop;
- kernel inside nuveau video driver (nVidia GeForce 9500M GS, 512 Mbyte
dedicated video RAM).

Have a nice day,

Carlo
