[libreoffice-l10n] Pootle is now down

2011-06-20 Thread Michael Bauer
At least it has been for me for all of today. Someone *please* tell me
this isn't going to go phut like OO?

Michael

Sorry, but you really need to be more specific.

What exactly do you mean with "inaccessible", when exactly did it
happen, what kind of action did you try to perform,..

Apart from that: The ~4minutes every three hours when the backup is
created still applies to that server. During that time, requests may
take long to complete because the database is locked.

ciao
Christian

2011-06-20 Thread Volker Merschmann
Hi,

I have asked one of our sysops.
Our pootle server at http://translations.documentfoundation.org is
actually down for a scheduled maintenance. It will be back in approx.
two hours.

Thanks for your patience.

Volker

..and it's back.

reason why it took longer than expected is basically due to my
stupidity, I switched the DNS too early/did not block access to the
new server. The multiple requests to pootle then did cause timeouts
during the conversion, resulting in starting the conversion over and
over again. (as I knew it would take two hours, I didn't bother
sitting in front of the screen, but as I tested conversion previously,
I was the only one who did access the new server, so I didn't have
this problem.
Just a couple of minutes before Volker contacted me/before you wrote
the mail, I disabled access to pootle itself to allow the conversion
to finish. That's now done and you can start working on it again.

In case you see a password-prompt, then you're still getting the IP
from the old server from your DNS, flush your DNS cache in this case.
(or reboot your machine/just wait - whatever is easier for you :-))

ciao
Christian
