[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1404853] [NEW] [Ubuntu 14.04.1 LTS] Asus X550C using mousepad makes Ubuntu freeze

2014-12-22 Thread score100
Public bug reported:

Hello,
I originally thought to be affected by bug #1314198:
 https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1314198 .

But mine is different. My mousepad gets recognized fine and works without
problems. However if I keep on using it consistently ubuntu freezes after
approximately 5 minutes of usage. The mouse doesn't move anymore, connecting an
external mouse makes the pointer not move either.
Oddly enough this doesn' t happen when using an external mouse from the start.
Also this seems to be a ubuntu related issue, as using it in crunchbang/debian
doesn't cause any problems.

** Affects: linux (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: Incomplete

** Tags: asus mousepad x550

Title:
[Ubuntu 14.04.1 LTS] Asus X550C using mousepad makes Ubuntu freeze

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  Hello,
I originally thought to be affected by bug #1314198:
   https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1314198 .

But mine is different. My mousepad gets recognized fine and works without
problems. However if I keep on using it consistently ubuntu freezes after
approximately 5 minutes of usage. The mouse doesn't move anymore, connecting an
external mouse makes the pointer not move either.
Oddly enough this doesn' t happen when using an external mouse from the
start. Also this seems to be a ubuntu related issue, as using it in
crunchbang/debian doesn't cause any problems.

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1323816] Re: [Asus X550CA] Touchpad not working in ubuntu 14.04

2014-09-09 Thread score100
Interesting. I am running the latest Kernel and I don't have this bug, but
another one. My touchpad works fine, as do left and right mouse buttons.
However, whenever I keep using the touchpad instead of an external mouse
consistently: ubuntu freezes within a period of 2 to 25 minutes. I kept
thinking that it must be for another reason that this is happening, but it
definitely ONLY happens (the freezing) if I use no external Mouse for my ASUS
X550-C.
Anyone else has this?

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1404853] Re: [Ubuntu 14.04.1 LTS] Asus X550C using mousepad makes Ubuntu freeze

2015-02-03 Thread score100
Hello,
did not come back to this as updating my bios made my notebook unuseable and I
had to send it in for service. Now back with the upgraded bios, mousepad seems
to be working in perfect order!

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1404853] Re: [Ubuntu 14.04.1 LTS] Asus X550C using mousepad makes Ubuntu freeze

2015-02-03 Thread score100
OK Wait, before this will get deleted: the same bug reoccurred again. I had
made a fresh re-installation of lubuntu after the bios upgrade broke things.
Now the bug didn't occur at all unless I would update the nvidia drivers with
the following packages:
nvidia-331
nvidia-settings
nvidia-prime

Maybe this bug needs to be assigned to another package then?

** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu)
