[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1292036] Re: Displayport on Thinkpad T420s is not usable

2017-03-16 Thread parislanuit
Computer: Lenovo Thinkpad T420
Ubuntu 16.10: Display port still don't work

I am using a cable displayport to Hdmi with an asus screen with no
displayport (but 2xhdmi)

sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date
83et79ww (1.49)
09/05/2016

in the bios : Screen not found, only the built in lcd.
in ubuntu: System/screen => both screens are detected although the 2nd screen
seems not to receive any data & the screen shuts off automatically very fast
(stand by)

Title:
  Displayport on Thinkpad T420s is not usable

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  Triaged

Bug description:
  Hi,
  I'm trying to connect an external screen to my thinkpad T420s. I'm running
Ubuntu 14.04 and here is the output of xrandr:

  $ xrandr
  Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 1600 x 900, maximum 32767 x 32767
  LVDS1 connected primary 1600x900+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y
axis) 309mm x 174mm
 1600x900   60.0*+   40.0
 1440x900   59.9
 1360x768   59.8 60.0
 1152x864   60.0
 1024x768   60.0
 800x60060.3 56.2
 640x48059.9
  VGA1 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis)
  VIRTUAL1 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis)

  LVDS1 is the LCD-display on the laptop. This is the output of lspci:

  $ lspci | grep VGA
  00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 2nd Generation Core
Processor Family Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 09)
  01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation GF119M [NVS 4200M] (rev
ff)

  The screen recognises that something is plugged into the DisplayPort
  but Ubuntu is unable to send output to it. It's probably related to
  the whole dual graphics card thing.

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1430625] Re: ACPI PCC probe failed.

2015-05-14 Thread parislanuit
Mobo gigabyte GA-965GM-S2 (AHCI 1.07 [08.04.2006])
GC Nvidia GTX 460 GM
Ubuntu 15.04 Kernel 3.19.0.16

Booting on AHCI

==> Boots fine if I use open source Nouveau driver

==> Boots fine but mentionning " [ 1.072944] ACPI PCC probe failed " if
I use the NVIDIA 346.59 driver.

If I go back to Nouveau driver the "xxx probe failed" doesn't show
again..
