[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1613134] Re: wacom touch screen does not recognize finger touch

2016-09-21 Thread littlelion
Ok ... this took a while ... an a lot of effort, but finally it's done.

The first good commit is this one:

3e9161bfe0482f26efeaf584d5fd69398c69313c - Dmitry Torokhov, Thu Jul 14
09:33:41 2016 -0700 : Revert "Input: wacom_w8001 - drop use of
ABS_MT_TOOL_TYPE"

A diff is attached.

Hopefully I've tagged correctly, the version of the branch with the
commit is still at version 4.6.0 but it is merged three commits later
into the master branch with version 4.7.0-rc7

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1613134] Re: wacom touch screen does not recognize finger touch

2016-08-16 Thread littlelion
V4.8-rc2 does fix the problem.

Due to some other issues (missing hardware support) I'll return to V4.2
for now.

Will there be an update or fix for the LTS version, or do I have to
upgrade to Yackety?

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1613134] Re: wacom touch screen does not recognize finger touch

2016-11-07 Thread littlelion
@penalvch:
Since yakkety runs on the 4.8 kernel this issue is fixed, and so it is with the
daily build. I'm looking forward to a backport/fix for the LTS.

@ET:
I've done the kernel bisection on a fresh installation, so there is no
difference between an old and a fresh installation. By the way, I never needed
an inputattach command since the first installation of 12.04. Seems to be a
different touch device and thus a different issue.

Yes, everything I wrote is tested. So, both, the yakkety and the daily
fix the issue.
