  Media Card Reader

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  Triaged

Bug description:
When I insert a 8GB MicroSD into my integrated Alcor Micro Corp.
8-in-1 Media Card Reader using Oneiric it is not recognized.
However, the same MicroSD card works in a different laptops card
  reader.

As well, in 10.04.4 through 11.10, when I insert a 2GB SD card it is
recognized, automatically mounted, and a window opens to display what
  files are on the card.

Bug description:
Just installed 15.04 fresh from the latest ISO (beta2).

I'm bummed to see my bluetooth headset (Bose Soundlink overear) seems
  to have regressed in functionality.

In 14.10, I was able to set the output profile either to a2dp or
  hsp/hfp (telephony duplex).

In 15.04, it only works in telephony duplex mode. I can't get high
fidelity sound playback to work at all.

This thread seems to be related, though the workaround within did not solve
the problem for me:

BTW, just applying this patch[1] to bluez package from 18.04 fixes the
a2dp problem for me with Sony WH-CH700N headphones. Patch applies
cleanly to 5.48.

2018-09-29 Thread Yura Pakhuchiy
I've tested with mainline kernel and it is crashes as well. Also I've
tried booting previous Ubuntu releases (4.15.0-20-generic,
4.15.0-29-generic, 4.15.0-32-generic, 4.15.0-33-generic) and bug happens
with all of them. This is strange because I've used these kernels
without any problems for months. Wi-Fi worked extremely stable until
problem recently appeared. So looks like bug was present for long time,
however it have not manifested itself. But some non-kernel update
uncovered it.

Bug is pretty severe on my system, it happens in few minutes of active
Wi-Fi usage (eg. open speedtest.net and run it for few times). If I do
not use Wi-Fi at maximum speed it (eg. just listening online radio) it
may work for hours.

Log from mainline kernel:

I've grepped through dmesg and journalctl there is zero messages about
temperature from iwlwifi in my case. I've some from CPU, but they are
probably not related.

In my case crash can happen on freshly booted system as well. And it is
more likely to happen when I'm using Wi-Fi actively, although it
sometimes happens even if I barely use Wi-Fi (eg. I'm connected via
ethernet cable and Wi-Fi at the same time and routing is configured to
use the cable).

@berend have you tried replacing the card?

lspci no longer shows "Intel Corporation Wireless 7260" entry on my
system. So I guess it is a hardware problem. Funny thing that bluetooth
which is located on the same chip still works.

Bug description:
  [ Impact ]

Bluetooth devices fail to reconnect after a suspend or system restart

  [ Test Plan ]

  1. Put the headphones into discovery mode.
  2. Go to Settings -> Bluetooth and connect to the headphones.
  3. Reboot the laptop.
  4. Go to Settings -> Bluetooth
  5. Click on the headphones.
  6. Try to connect to the headphones.
  7. If step 6. fails try to disconnect.
  8. Go to step 6.

  Expected result:
After step 6 for headphones to be connected and for headphones to announce
"Bluetooth connected".

[ Where problems could occur ]

The change is in the reading of stored device keys. If the patch is
wrong it could be that paired devices will not reconnect correctly or
  might use an incorrect profile.

  [ Other Info ]

  How reproducible is the problem:
Fairly reproducible. It can sometimes takes 30 or more connection attempts
before a real connection is established.
