[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1950903] [NEW] kernel package does not build nvme-tcp module

2021-11-14 Thread Sagi
Public bug reported:

linux-image-5.4.0-1059-aws does not build nvme-tcp kernel module so there is no
option to use it.
The fix is trivial, just add CONFIG_NVME_TCP=m in the kernel config file used
to build the kernel image.

** Affects: linux-aws (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

Also, this issue applies to all linux-aws images that are based off any
kernel that is >=5.0 so it would be great if all the relevant images can
be fixed as well.

Tim, We indeed attempted what seems to be an old AMI, I think we can
categorize this as a false alarm. Sorry. Thanks for the turn-around.

I'm running Ubuntu Gnome 16.04 on a Thinkpad T440p. On upgrading to 4.4.0-43
and rebooting the system didn't seem to recognize my Wifi or sound hardware:
there was no Wifi icon or ability to connect to a network, and the only output
on the sound menu was "Dummy Output." Rebooting into 4.4.0-42 solved the issue.
