[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1864644] Re: I get logged out immediately after login to an X session (QXL Xorg driver on kernel 5.4)

2020-02-26 Thread Chris Ward
The login screen doesn't offer a "Ubuntu on Wayland" option; the options
offered are
GNOME on Xorg
GNOME + Remmina Kiosk
Ubuntu
Xfce Session

All 4 options log me out immediately after login

I just installed ubuntu 20.04 in a virtual machine and did 'apt-get

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1865010] [NEW] Graphics garbled

2020-02-27 Thread Chris Ward
Public bug reported:

I have a Dell Optiplex 790, with graphics done on the processor chip (I
think this is called Intel Graphics). Sometimes parts of my screen
display are garbled; it is usually a problem with display of icons. I
think the problem is in the linux kernel handling of graphics
acceleration. I will attach some screenshots showing the problem. My
system runs Ubuntu 19.10 and is up-to-date with patches.

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1865010] Re: Graphics garbled

2020-03-02 Thread Chris Ward

Is this likely to be a kernel problem or an 'xorg' problem ?

Title:
  Graphics garbled

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
I have a Dell Optiplex 790, with graphics done on the processor chip
(I think this is called Intel Graphics). Sometimes parts of my screen
display are garbled; it is usually a problem with display of icons. I
think the problem is in the linux kernel handling of graphics
acceleration. I will attach some screenshots showing the problem. My
system runs Ubuntu 19.10 and is up-to-date with patches.

2021-12-06 Thread Chris Ward
Please 'park' this bug report, i.e. take no action on it. It is a bug in
a Xilinx kernel, not a Ubuntu one. Please leave this bug report here as
it is IBM's way to communicate the problem to Xilinx engineers. Thanks !

2021-12-07 Thread Chris Ward
You can only log in to the affected system after you have accessed the
IBM network, i.e. when you are inside the firewall. VPN access can be
granted (I believe) to whoever is assignde to fix this bug.
