[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1547204] Re: i915 several 'call traces' in dmesg
I haven't run older Ubuntu on this machine. Warnings don't happen with mainline kernel 4.2.0-040200-generic. Upgrading BIOS (from 1.13 to 1.15) didn't help. With mainline kernel 4.5: only two warnings: dmesg | grep "cut here" -A 1 [8.852365] [ cut here ] [8.852476] WARNING: CPU: 0 PID: 75 at /home/kernel/COD/linux/drivers/gpu/drm/i915/intel_fbdev.c:412 intel_fb_initial_config+0x2e4/0x600 [i915]() -- [8.855788] [ cut here ] [8.855807] WARNING: CPU: 0 PID: 75 at /home/kernel/COD/linux/drivers/gpu/drm/drm_atomic_helper.c:715 drm_atomic_helper_update_legacy_modeset_state+0x26a/0x280 [drm_kms_helper]() ** Description changed: Ubuntu 16.04 Kernel: Ubuntu 4.4.0-4.19-generic 4.4.1 There are seven WARNINGS in dmesg during boot. dmesg | grep "cut here" -A 1 [5.916356] [ cut here ] [5.916450] WARNING: CPU: 0 PID: 47 at /build/linux-IIZPYL/linux-4.4.0/drivers/gpu/drm/i915/intel_display.c:12147 intel_atomic_check+0x307/0x6d0 [i915]() -- [5.917586] [ cut here ] [5.917661] WARNING: CPU: 0 PID: 47 at /build/linux-IIZPYL/linux-4.4.0/drivers/gpu/drm/i915/intel_display.c:11695 intel_plane_atomic_calc_changes+0x549/0x6b0 [i915]() -- [5.996083] [ cut here ] [5.996176] WARNING: CPU: 0 PID: 47 at /build/linux-IIZPYL/linux-4.4.0/drivers/gpu/drm/i915/intel_display.c:12724 intel_modeset_check_state+0x556/0x910 [i915]() -- [6.100769] [ cut here ] [6.100853] WARNING: CPU: 0 PID: 47 at /build/linux-IIZPYL/linux-4.4.0/drivers/gpu/drm/i915/intel_display.c:12147 intel_atomic_check+0x307/0x6d0 [i915]() -- [6.336057] [ cut here ] [6.336151] WARNING: CPU: 0 PID: 47 at /build/linux-IIZPYL/linux-4.4.0/drivers/gpu/drm/i915/intel_display.c:12724 intel_modeset_check_state+0x556/0x910 [i915]() -- [6.338439] [ cut here ] [6.338516] WARNING: CPU: 0 PID: 47 at /build/linux-IIZPYL/linux-4.4.0/drivers/gpu/drm/i915/intel_fbdev.c:406 intel_fb_initial_config+0x2e4/0x5f0 [i915]() -- [6.342397] [ cut here ] [6.342413] WARNING: CPU: 0 PID: 47 at /build/linux-IIZPYL/linux-4.4.0/drivers/gpu/drm/drm_atomic_helper.c:682 drm_atomic_helper_update_legacy_modeset_state+0x26a/0x280 [drm_kms_helper]() Happens also with mainline kernel 4.4.1-040401-generic. [Kernel-packages] [Bug 1531578] Re: i915. graphics messed, only slide of the screen working
Seems Xenial will be released with Kernel v4.4 [ https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelTeam/Newsletter/2015-12-15 ]. And older Ubuntu releases will use v4.2 (which is not affected by this bug). Maybe it is useless to track this v4.3 issue (specially if no one else encounters it). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1531578 Title: i915. graphics messed, only slide of the screen working Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: Computer: EEEpc 701 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Mobile 915GM/GMS/910GML Express Graphics Controller (rev 04) Native resolution 800x480 linux-image-4.3.0-2-generic=4.3.0-2.11 Upgraded to the Xenial. [Kernel-packages] [Bug 357673] Re: No notification when sliding audio volume, muting volume on ThinkPad X23, X24, X31, X32, X41, X60, T22, T40, T41, T42, T43, T43p, T60, R50e, R51, R52
Happens on Thinkpad t42 with Ubuntu 12.04.03. With alsamixer -> 'F6' -> "29 ThinkPad Console Audio Control" I can see current level of hardware mixer and that hotkeys are working (I can also hear they really affcets volume level). But there are no on-screen- notification. Same with brightness. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/357673 Title: No notification when sliding audio volume, muting volume on ThinkPad X23, X24, X31, X32, X41, X60, T22, T40, T41, T42, T43, T43p, T60, R50e, R51, R52 Status in “gnome-settings-daemon” package in Ubuntu: Triaged Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Status in “gnome-settings-daemon” source package in Lucid: Won't Fix Status in “linux” source package in Lucid: Fix Released Bug description: Binary package hint: notification-daemon After today's upgrade, I don't have anymore notifications when changing audio volume on my IBM Thinkpad X31. It was working until yesterday (Jaunty). This issue also affects all other hardware buttons such as volume mute, LCD brightness, bluetooth/wifi radio switch. Steps to reproduce: - Change audio volume using the hardware buttons - Audio volume changes as expected but no notification appears - Mute audio using hardware button - Audio muted as expected but no notification appears - Change LCD brightness using function keys (Fn+Home, Fn+End on T42) - LCD brightness changes as expected but no notification appears To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-settings-daemon/+bug/357673/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages Post to : kernel-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
