I agree that akregator needs a syncing-service, but I'd rather see it built-in.
In other words, not using a 3rd party service. It would just need a back-end
and a front-end, similar to how Quassel handles syncing for IRC.

The back-end could be on a user's main PC, a server on the LAN, a Kodi or Plex
plugin, reside within OwnCloud, or via a hosted service like Digital Ocean or
maybe a service that KDE could provide.

I could see potentially many great enterprise uses for this as well, such as
syncing Intranet news and information within a company or school, etc. If
anyone thinks this may have merit, I could spin-off a separate bug report.

[korganizer] [Bug 428665] subscribing and syncing to remote dynamic ics web calendar not possible

Off topic perhaps, so please remove if appropriate. You can, AFAICT, specify a
URL in the .ics file dialogue window that opens, which will load the remote
calendar and add both the calendar and an akonadi resource for the remote
calendar.

As mentioned, on the second tab of the folder properties dialogue, one can
specify the update interval. It remains to be seem on my system if this is
working, however I can confirm that manually updating the folder DOES work. Not
ideal, but perhaps a workable solution in the interim until this bug gets fixed
/ closed.

[kaddressbook] [Bug 448264] New: Wish for smaller QR code when viewing a contact

2022-01-11 Thread James Cain
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=448264

Bug ID: 448264
Summary: Wish for smaller QR code when viewing a contact
   Product: kaddressbook
   Version: 5.19.1
  Platform: Neon Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: dequ...@mykolab.com
CC: to...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

Right now, when I open a contact in, well, Kontact, the QR Code for the entry
is HUGE and is really distracting from the tasks of viewing or editing fields.
My request is that the size be significantly reduced, while still being usable,
or hide it behind a tab.

I would think about 1/2 this size would suffice. The QR code seems to be around
490 x 490 pixels, but the size seems to depend on the amount of info contained
in the contact record.
