hi all. [kde-freebsd] 4.1.85: nv-driver visual issue
yes, nvidia card on amd64 :) In the default style, the kapplication menu launcher (the start menu) shows only the black border with nothing in it but a transparent area with the desktop background shining through. The Home folder plasmoid itself doesn't show up, that means the opaque part of it, but I can see the contents of it and the black settings bar aside also works. Is this port related, or does this also show up on other platforms using nv? Linuxers propably don't see it since they have 64-bit nvidia blobs. I don't remember problems with konsole 4.1.1, but in 4.1.3 (sure in 4.1.4 too) it works fine. As well as in 4.1.85 which I use now. [kde-freebsd] KDE 4.2 BETA 2 slowness
I've built kdelibs4 and the kdebase4 ports. No problems noticed during build. However, running the KDE4 desktop is agonizingly slow. It takes about two minutes to login, and individual apps taking over a minute to start. While running most apps seem responsive. Desktop effects are off. I've cleared out old configuration data, and even switched back to 4BSD scheduler. All to no effect. System: 7.1-RELEASE, 2.8Ghz P4 single core, 1GiB RAM.
