Hi, this bug still exists in latest version(18.08.1, i'm not sure if this is
the latest version).

i have a disc which burned on windows using its default burner, which creates
udf/iso hybird fs.
after that i put the disc in, using k3b to append files, but can not import
previous session, just like the bug said. please help...
i tested both cd-rw and dvd+r, all seems the same.

2020-10-27 Thread xust
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=428326

Bug ID: 428326
   Summary: K3b cannot load the sessions burned on windows twice
   Product: k3b
   Version: 20.08
  Platform: Manjaro

  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 132783
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=132783&action=edit
cannot import the files of previous session

SUMMARY

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. prepare an empty cd/dvd to burn on windows using the default burner, and
burn twice using CD/DVD mode.(i'm using dvd+r disc)
2. load the disc on manjaro, then open k3b to append files to it, choose
continue multi session, then select the second session
3. ovserve the data project window, ensure the files on the disc have been
shown.

OBSERVED RESULT
the files on the disc do not show in the data project window.

EXPECTED RESULT
files show correctly.

Qt Version: 5.15.1

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
you'll see, the disc doesn't load before i mount it manually, this is a known
issue with blkid, and it is already acknowledged by its maintainers. so i just
want to know how to solve the issue i mentioned above.

the previous session before burning. and repeat this step. (if you can add some
files with chinese filename, that will be better)
3. reading and try to write the disc on windows using its default cd/dvd
burner.

OBSERVED RESULT
1. the files with chinese filename do not show correctly.
2. the windows default burner report an error while try to continue burning

still happens on the latest version of k3b.
even the manjaro 2003 cannot automaticly mount the disc which burned on windows
twice, this is a known issue on blkid project and may be fixed later. so after
mount the disc manually, k3b can view the files on disc info window, but cannot
import the files of the previous session, the data project window still empty.

also, this is not a bug of qt, qt reads all mime from system, the idx is not
included in, see:

 debian@debian  /usr/share/mime/text  cat x-mpsub.xml
   ✔  959
 16:53:10

http://www.freedesktop.org/standards/shared-mime-info";
type="text/x-mpsub">

  MPlayer subtitles
  субтитри MPlayer
  MPlayer-undertexter
  Субтитры MPlayer
  Napisy MPlayer
  subtítulos de MPlayer
  MPlayer-Untertitel

so you can install the mimetype description file or create a file yourself to
solve this issue.

but I think kio could do some workaround? such as if suffix obtained from
qmimedatabase is empty, do split by dot, and use the last part as suffix? only
if `fullName.split('.').count() >=2`

rename files which have same suffix `.idx` also makes file lost it's suffix.
seems like the `.idx` cannot be correctly batch renamed.
seems like a Qt bug, or the mime database doesn't contains the `.idx` suffix.
tested with minimal qt demo:
#include
#include
#include
#include

int main(int argc, char *argv[])
{
QCoreApplication a(argc, argv);
QMimeDatabase db;
const QString extension =
db.suffixForFileName("/home/debian/Downloads/file.idx");
qDebug() << "##  " << extension; // output an empty string
return 0;
}

1. I have the same idea with you, as I suggeted to KIO in my comments, and I'll
make a pr see if KIO accept.
2. I'm not clear about this.
