[kdeconnect] [Bug 433049] New: pair from the share target

2021-02-16 Thread user456
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=433049

Bug ID: 433049
Summary: pair from the share target
   Product: kdeconnect
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Android
OS: Android 11.x
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: android-application
  Assignee: albertv...@gmail.com
  Reporter: gwmeeqqhvjyhpan...@ttirv.org
  Target Milestone: ---

The share target lists paired devices, but not available devices.
I have to quit whatsapp, open kde, pair, go back to whatsapp, share, switch
back to kde, unpair.

Ideally, I would open whatsapp, click Share, click a button that pairs with
the PC and sends and unpairs (if it was unpaired before sharing).
Finally, I'm brought back to whatsapp automatically.

I'm on kde connect 1.16 (not available as an option in bugzilla's form)

[kdeconnect] [Bug 433051] New: disable send completed notification when already notified by other means

2021-02-17 Thread user456
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=433051

Bug ID: 433051
Summary: disable send completed notification when already
notified by other means
   Product: kdeconnect
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Android
OS: Unspecified
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: android-application
  Assignee: albertv...@gmail.com
  Reporter: gwmeeqqhvjyhpan...@ttirv.org
  Target Milestone: ---

A successful send makes a phone notification, which persists until removed
manually, but it is often unnecessary for me, as I mostly use Send file as a
quick alternative to bluetooth/cable to exchange files with the PC.

For example:
- if I have the PC in front of me, the PC notification is enough and
  auto-destroys after a few seconds;
- if the file is not to be used right away after receiving, e.g. I send
and forget it, or send a big file and do another task.

What about an option to disable the notification or make it time-based?

For clarity, I do not ask for a general "don't disturb" mode (in fact I want
other notifications), but to disable it when already notified by other means.

I'm on kde connect 1.16 (not available as an option in bugzilla's form)

It would be a nice addition when entering a lot of numbers on a netbook or
small Mac.

[kdeconnect] [Bug 433055] New: warn prominently to only pair to trusted devices

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=433055

Bug ID: 433055
Summary: warn prominently to only pair to trusted devices
   Product: kdeconnect
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: unspecified
OS: All
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: common
  Assignee: albertv...@gmail.com
  Reporter: gwmeeqqhvjyhpan...@ttirv.org
  Target Milestone: ---

The security model is well-known among developers to be
"based on the assumption that 1) you only pair with a device you trust"
(quote from #424889 comment 3).

This should be displayed prominently prior to pairing. It is not self-evident
in the GUI. The need to explain in the bugzilla and the various open bugreports
based on the wrong assumption are proof.

[kdeconnect] [Bug 425381] Cannot add trusted networks (empty list)

Yes, "Allow only while using the app" is checked. (There is no "Allow" radio
button.) The list of denied permissions at the bottom is empty.
