I'm also having this same issue when running Kolourpaint version 22.12.3 under
wayland, the only way I've been able to resolve this cursor issue was launching
with QT_QPA_PLATFORM=xcb.

I'm also encountering this error when using kolourpaint 23.04.1 on opensuse
tumbleweed when running my desktop under wayland at 150% scaling. The temporary
workaround I use is to force kolourpaint to run via xwayland using
'QT_QPA_PLATFORM=xcb'

[Plasma Workspace Wallpapers] [Bug 470637] New: Easier Wallpaper Changing options for plasma 6.0

2023-06-04 Thread tidal3179
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=470637

Bug ID: 470637
Summary: Easier Wallpaper Changing options for plasma 6.0
Classification: Plasma
   Product: Plasma Workspace Wallpapers
   Version: master
  Platform: openSUSE
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: greenismypep...@protonmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
OpenSUSE Tumbleweed
Kernel Version 6.3.4-1
Plasma Version 5.27.5
KDE frameworks Version 5.106.0
Qt Version 5.15.9

The option to change your wallpaper on desktop, SSDM, and lockscreen should be
accessible from the appearance tab in the system settings under the global
theme option. Currently to change the desktop wallpaper you have to right click
on the desktop and select 'configure desktop and wallpaper'. To change the
lockscreen wallpaper you have to click 'workspace behavior' -> 'screen
locking'-> 'configure appearance'. For SSDM you have to click 'startup and
shutdown' -> 'login screen' -> click image. It would be nice if the options to
change the wallpapers for the desktop, SSDM, and lockscreen were available in
the 'appearance' section on the 'System Settings' program.

[Discover] [Bug 489153] New: Discover should display the same warning about third party themes as the settings app

2024-06-24 Thread tidal3179

Bug ID: 489153
Summary: Discover should display the same warning about third
party themes as the settings app
Classification: Applications
   Product: Discover
   Version: 6.0.5
  Platform: openSUSE
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED

screenshot of discover and the settings app side by side

SUMMARY

When I install third party themes and the like from the settings app, I get a
warning message telling me "User-created content shown here hasn't been tested
by KDE or your distributor for functionality or quality". However if I open
Discover and click on the plasma addons tab I don't get such a warning. I
believe that if you're going to be displaying this warning from the settings
app it should also be displayed on Discover when it comes to installing 3rd
party themes.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open theme section in settings app and click get new, the warning message
appears
2. Open Discover and click 'plasma addons' and any of the subsections, no
warning message appears

I get the feeling that most users install new themes from the system settings
instead of discover. Not to mention the fact that setting the policy "[KDE
Action Restrictions][$i] ghns=false" in the /etc/xdg/kdeglobals file is only
enforced when installing new themes from system settings. Even with this policy
enabled I was still able to easily bypass it by downloading new themes from
Discover.

[Spectacle] [Bug 476811] New: Spectacle not hiding main window properly when selecting rectangular region screenshot

2023-11-10 Thread tidal3179
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=476811

Bug ID: 476811
Summary: Spectacle not hiding main window properly when
selecting rectangular region screenshot
Classification: Applications
   Product: Spectacle
   Version: 23.08.2
  Platform: openSUSE
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: General
  Assignee: noaha...@gmail.com
  Reporter: greenismypep...@protonmail.com

  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 163026
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=163026&action=edit
The rectangular screenshot regression bug

SUMMARY
***
Spectacle should hide it's main window when taking a screenshot of a
rectangular area. What happens instead is the main spectacle window only
disappears partially before I'm able to select the rectangular area for a
screenshot. After taking the screenshot the main spectacle window appears semi
transparent. This happens regardless of what desktop effects/themes I have
enabled, the animation speed has not been changed either.
***

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Press screenshot key to launch spectacle
2. Click rectangular region option
3. Notice how the main spectacle window doesn't hide itself properly when
taking the partial screenshot

OBSERVED RESULT
Main spectacle window appears in the screenshot as a 'ghost'

EXPECTED RESULT
Main spectacle window should disappear and get out of the way before I 'm able
to select the area for the screenshot. I shouldn't have to move the main
spectacle window out of the way of whatever area I want to capture.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma:
openSUSE tumbleweed 20231107
KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.9
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.111.0
Qt Version: 5.15.11

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
A screenshot has been attached. This appears to be a regression since I have
not had this issue with previous versions of spectacle, apparently this issue
should have been resolved in version 23.04 of spectacle according to bug ID
423435. I'm also using a radeon 5700xt gpu with the default MESA drivers with
wayland.

I tried resetting my spectacle rc file but the issue still persists

[plasmashell] [Bug 472286] New: Add a default virtual keyboard for plasma

2023-07-15 Thread tidal3179
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=472286

Bug ID: 472286
Summary: Add a default virtual keyboard for plasma
Classification: Plasma
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: master
  Platform: unspecified
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Input Method
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: greenismypep...@protonmail.com
CC: aleix...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: 1.0

SUMMARY
***
I noticed that KDE plasma includes it's own qt based virtual keyboard however
it only works on SDDM. Is there anyway to make this keyboard accessible on the
desktop like any other virtual keyboard and make it the default option?
Currently if you install a KDE plasma distro you either have to hope your
distro maintainers included a virtual keyboard package or you have to manually
find and download one yourself. This is inconvenient for tablet PC users who
want their system to work out of the box.
***

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Go to 'System Settings'
2. Go to 'Input Devices'
3. Go to 'Virtual Keyboard'

OBSERVED RESULT

There is no default virtual keyboard unless your distro maintainers
preinstalled a package.

EXPECTED RESULT

There should be a default virtual keyboard option for users who do not
wish/don't know how to install third party virtual keyboard packages.
