[krita] [Bug 430688] New: Krita Window won't move or minimize
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=430688 Bug ID: 430688 Summary: Krita Window won't move or minimize Product: krita Version: 4.4.0 Platform: Microsoft Windows OS: Microsoft Windows Status: REPORTED Severity: critical Priority: NOR Component: Usability Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: boundlessfirmam...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY Krita launched on my main monitor and I needed to move it to my drawing tablet. After several attempts, clicking and dragging on the top bar did not drag the window to the other monitor. I noticed that the top bar had no "minimize", "window", nor "close window" buttons in the top right corner. Since I was changing some of the Krita configurations earlier, I decided to try wiping them to get rid of the issue. I did so and restarted Krita. The issue occurred again. As a last effort, I uninstalled Krita and installed it again (via Steam). The issue is still occurring after doing so. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. 2. 3. OBSERVED RESULT EXPECTED RESULT SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: 10 macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: KDE Frameworks Version: Qt Version: ADDITIONAL INFORMATION -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

Since upgrading to Plasma 6, when I try to reply to a message for that account (in *any* mailbox, not just the large one), kmail uses 100% CPU and seems to consume all memory on the system--when I last observed this, I let it go to 25 GB RES before closing it. I did not have this problem with Plasma 5. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Have or create a large mailbox, maybe 50k messages will suffice 2. Try to reply to a message in the account, in any mailbox, using either menu button or keybinding 3. Observe the application become unresponsive, using 100% CPU and eventually 100% memory OBSERVED RESULT Kmail uses all CPU and memory EXPECTED RESULT The compose window opens for the message reply SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Arch Linux updated as of this morning (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 6.0.2 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.0.0 Qt Version: 6.6.2 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

The -- characters in particular are problematic for technical discussion, as they create a strikethrough effect. This makes it hard to read text like this: sockstat -u | grep /tmp/ssh- STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open email using formatting characters listed above 2. Notice how it changes the appearance of the message in a way that makes it harder to read 3. Observe there's no preference to disable this OBSERVED RESULT Commandline text (and other text using these characters for purposes other than formatting) is harder to read, but there's no preference to disable this EXPECTED RESULT A preference is added which supports toggling whether to enable this formatting. Alternately, removing the formatting feature altogether would be acceptable as well; part of the point of plain text email is that it's not handled specially and is presented as-is. There is no option to do this either in any of the menus or in the default toolbar, nor is there an option to add it. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open a message in its own window (e.g. by double-clicking it or selecting it and pressing enter) 2. Navigate through the menus searching for the archive action 3. Browse the customize toolbar menu searching for an archive button 4. There is no archive action in this UI OBSERVED RESULT There is no way to archive a message from the individual message view window EXPECTED RESULT It would be convenient to be able to archive a message when viewing it on its own. This is particularly helpful when viewing a message from the new mail notification window. Many messages I receive do not require action: I can read them and then immediately archive them. Being able to do this from the message view window means I do not need to open KMail itself (which constitutes a larger mental context switch) to archive it.
