[kwin] [Bug 449105] Dragging a window that was opened maximized moves the mouse cursor to the top left corner of the window
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=449105 --- Comment #15 from ghoste --- (In reply to Alessandro Astone from comment #14) > After living a long time with this bug assuming it'd eventually be fixed I > finally decided to take look it up on the bug tracker... and to my surprise > it does not have a lot of attention? > It's been happening forever on all my machines, where display scaling, gtk > vs qt, multiple monitors vs single monitor, all don't matter. I can assume > everyone is affected. > Super annoying. I would argue this a 15-minute bug. I'm running 5.27 and it's still an issue. It's not functionality breaking but you do notice it quickly and it's quite annoying. I'm seeing it right now when opening new Firefox windows. It's happened on every system I've tried including Intel, AMD, NVIDIA Graphics, Virtualbox too. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[plasmashell] [Bug 446874] Crash in QSGOpaqueTextureMaterialShader::updateState()
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=446874 ghoste changed: What|Removed |Added CC||jsbay...@protonmail.com --- Comment #13 from ghoste --- Created attachment 156658 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=156658&action=edit plasmashell crash backtrace Arch Linux (6.1.12-arch1-1) NVIDIA 525.89.02, 3 monitors X11 Plasma 5.27.1 Frameworks 5.103.0 Qt 5.15.8 I believe I'm having the same or at least a very similar crash. I'm able to reproduce it most of the time by spamming "Open a new window" 6+ times when right clicking Firefox, then closing the windows from the task manager tooltip. It's not 100% reliable to reproduce, but it very rarely takes more than closing 3 of those windows, usually happens within 1 or 2. Attached my backtrace. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[kwin] [Bug 450301] On KWin 5.24 X11 Nvidia, when reenabling compositing, windows begin flickering and flipping upside-down
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=450301 ghoste changed: What|Removed |Added CC||jsbay...@protonmail.com --- Comment #11 from ghoste --- I had this issue with Plasma 5.25 and maybe 5.24, but I think it stopped happening after upgrading to Plasma 5.26. I'm now running Plasma 5.27.2 and was unable to reproduce it after disabling and re-enabling the compositor 10 times in X11. Using NVIDIA driver 525.89.02. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[kwin] [Bug 449105] Dragging a window that was opened maximized moves the mouse cursor to the top left corner of the window
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=449105 --- Comment #19 from ghoste --- (In reply to miranda from comment #17) > (In reply to Alessandro Astone from comment #14) > Do KDE users (and KDE maintainers in particular) not use large or > multimonitor setups? Or just not have many open maximized windows? FWIW, whether one uses a large screen or a multi-monitor setup is irrelevant for this bug. It happens on any number of screens and any size/resolution of display(s). Just tested the latest Neon user edition in a VM with it's default screen setup of 1 display at 1024x768 and it occurs there. (In reply to Nate Graham from comment #18) > Since the issue only happens when dragging specific windows that were opened > in specific circumstances from their titlebars, we can assume that many > people don't do exactly those things. > > Personally I maximize and de-maximize windows all the time but I do it via > the keyboard, not the mouse. I don't believe it requires as complex circumstances as you may be suggesting. All it takes to trigger it is a window opening in maximized state, that's it. If you try moving the window with your mouse after that, you'll see the bug and will continue to every time without fail until the application is re-opened in a de-maximized state. If a window is opened in a de-maximized state, then maximized and moved with the mouse, the bug does not trigger. If one is using keybinds to move windows around, they won't experience this bug of course. However, I'd think it's a (poweruser) minority of users who are doing that compared to those who are using the mouse. While relatively minor, I'd argue this should be on the 15-minute bug list with as little as it takes to trigger it, for how often and basic the action of moving a window is, and for how annoying it can become in rather short time. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

I tried a couple dozens times before posting that by launching and closing a game with gamemoderun disabling/enabling the compositor, but I did it back to back without leaving the compositor off for more than a couple minutes. I suppose there's more conditions that need to be met before this bug is triggered than purely disabling/enabling the compositor. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[kwin] [Bug 483611] Frequent 1+ seconds compositor freeze on NVIDIA Wayland
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=483611 ghoste changed: What|Removed |Added CC||jsbay...@protonmail.com --- Comment #2 from ghoste --- SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Kernel: Linux 6.10.7-arch1-1 (64-bit) KDE Plasma Version: 6.1.4 (Wayland) KDE Frameworks Version: 6.5.0 Qt Version: 6.7.2 NVIDIA Driver: 560.35.03 (proprietary, not open modules) w/ RTX 4080 I'm seeing something similar (or the same) as this. Everything appears to be fine until apps and plasma itself suddenly start to hang or become unresponsive sporadically. Can't seem to isolate a particular cause either. This last time I was playing Just Cause 3 and the game started to repeatedly freeze for several seconds at a time and then I saw it was everything, not just the game. Other times it has happened I was doing basic things like using Firefox. IIRC, it has resolved itself once in the past when I let the system sit, but it can take a while so I just reboot at first sight now.
