[krita] [Bug 482378] New: recorder docker works perfectly except for no auto-start (have box checked)

2024-03-04 Thread fae
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=482378

Bug ID: 482378
Summary: recorder docker works perfectly except for no
auto-start (have box checked)
Classification: Applications
   Product: krita
Version: nightly build (please specify the git hash!)
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Dockers/Recorder
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: pinkskyatni...@posteo.org
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
***
Hello, running Sunday's krita-5.3.0-prealpha-de10297103-x86_64.appimage and
it's awesome except for the issue of recorder not auto-starting, even though
have it set to auto-start. Have managed to forget to record every single time
for 2 days, lol, but was testing brushes etc so no work recordings lost. Was
previously running krita-5.2.0-prealpha-e41db7b620-x86_64.appimage and no
issues.
***

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open Krita.
2. Start new or open already active canvas.
3. Check recorder docker and see that it hasn't automatically started
recording.

OBSERVED RESULT
Recorder docker not running/needs to be manually started.

EXPECTED RESULT
Docker is set to auto-start, and usually does that perfectly.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: MX Linux 21 xfce, running Mate 1.24.1, kernel 5.10, x11, mesa
20.3.5
amd ryzen7, radeo rx5700xt, 32 ram

Qt Version: 5

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Wasn't sure if other autostart plugin (oughtasave) may be clashing with
recorder, but testing removing it didn't fix things. Not running many plugins
otherwise ... old reference docker, kanvasbuddy, Krita UI redesign, scratchpad,
shortcut composer, brushes fixer special. Also trying out reference tabs docker
+ have toolkit installed although may remove latter.
Have added recorder button to Kanvasbuddy; not sure if that would affect the
recorder docker though, as otherwise record/export works great using the open
mp4 codec.

SUMMARY
Hello and thank you for responding to recorder autostart issue (482378). About
to add note to that, but, in the meantime, downloaded the
krita-5.3.0-prealpha-e4b7b670a5-x86_64.appimage containing the autostart fix,
just to briefly check if I needed to add anything further to bug report that
might be useful, but unfortunately appimage is segfaulting:

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. made sure permissions right, and double-clicked on the appimage
2. loading shows for about 4 seconds

Really appreciate this issue being looked at ... have done separate bug report
about segfault (485252) when try to run appimage containing the fix. Tbh
wouldn't be able to test/feedback further (post-segfault), with seeing notes
about a 2nd part of the recorder issue, where frames can get mixed up if doing
more than one painting at a time? Have I understood correctly? Everyone's
superbusy, but is this something that's intended to be looked at at some later
point?

PS no idea what am doing with the status thing below, lol, but did best guess.

[krita] [Bug 485369] New: empty layer thumbnails on versions of krita since 5.2.prealpha

2024-04-11 Thread fae
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=485369

Bug ID: 485369
Summary: empty layer thumbnails on versions of krita since
5.2.prealpha
Classification: Applications
   Product: krita
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Dockers
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: pinkskyatni...@posteo.org
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

Had been going to do a bug report about layer thumbnails empty [shows a single
black pixel square with white outline] in most recent 5.3 appimage ran
(krita-5.3.0-prealpha-de10297103-x86_64.appimage) ... tried to run a later 5.3,
to note what to include in bug report, but unfortunately segfaults (have done
bug report ... https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=485252).

On trying versions had missed while taking a break, e.g. 5.2.0/5.2.1 betas and
finals, and 5.2.2, found same issue of layer thumbnails empty.

Using krita-5.2.0-prealpha-e41db7b620-x86_64.appimage from before, and it works
fine, including layer thumbnails.
Have done various searches, including on krita forum, but can't seem to see
anyone with same issue, or any bug reports on it. Not sure what changed from
5.2.0-prealpha onwards, but can't run anything since.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. open variety of appimages
2. no layer contents show ... single dark pixel in centre of each layer
thumbnail

OBSERVED RESULT
empty layer thumbnails

EXPECTED RESULT
contents of canvas show in layer thumbnails

MX Linux 21 xfce, running Mate 1.24.1, kernel 5.10, x11, mesa 20.3.5

Just to note that system said image hadn't come through and to upload again,
but has created copy of original bug report ... will try marking as duplicate
and see if that auto-removes this 2nd version. Just image of layer thumbnails
with a single dark pixel showing, so won't risk uploading again, incase 3rd
copy of bug report is created.

Sorry about accidental duplicate ... system said to try to upload image again
and 2nd report happened. And just thought to try vanilla, without my backup
stuff copied over, and layer thumbnails showing fine in 5.2.2. Will close, and
test plugins individually to see if trigger issue. Thanks for your time, and
apologies for not thinking to test vanilla before doing bug report.

2022-05-15 Thread fae

  Platform: Debian stable
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Filter Layers
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org

  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
I imported Rakurri's 90 Gradients Set. It shows as imported, but the gradients
don't appear. As well as two attempts from both github and gumroad versions, I
tried extracting the bundle and manually importing an svg, but that brought up
a failed message.
(No problems with Rakurri v2 brush bundle, and creating/importing own backup
bundles).

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. import gradients bundle successfully
2. reboot and unable to find imported gradients within Krita.

[krita] [Bug 443700] recorder broken; each session gets separate folder, and cannot output full video

2021-10-30 Thread fae
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=443700

I've just tried today's nightly ...
krita-5.1.0-prealpha-fbe192a-x86_64.appimage ... scribbled a short session,
saving as psd, then closed down and re-opened the psd, continuing to paint.
I've then exported the video, but it only exported the 2nd session.

Am on Mint Mate 20.04, and not sure if there's anything external the appimage
needs? Does the nightly include the latest beta2 fixes, or is there somewhere
else to download the latest beta2?

Just to add that I enabled logging, while doing the 2-sessions test again ...
in 2nd session, krita crashed (unfortunately without any recovery when
re-opened), but log showed nothing about the crash, and no reference to
recorder only having a few new seconds of scribble to output (the re-done 2nd
session). Looked at Mate logs too, but can't see anything in them, except a few
refs to "ForegroundNormal" - conversion from "0" to QColor failed].

Sorry, not able to edit posts, so another addition to say I've tested recording
in the usual appimage that works, from July this year, and that isn't working
either, which is really surprising, as it used to work fine. Wondering if it's
to do with something from system impacting on Krita. System isn't modified;
just installed, basic updates, and running the offered kernel 5.11.0-38 as well
as usual 5.4.

Thanks for responses Reinold and Tiar
I use Sai mainly, and choose psd for that reason, and prefer nothing extra in
the save except the artwork, and don't use any of the extra features such as
masks etc.
For recording art done solely in krita, yes, saving a psd as well as the kra,
after recording, would fix being able to have the psd ... may have saved as kra
by accident the other day, and still had issues, but will test and report back.

recorder broken; each session gets separate folder, and cannot output full
video

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open beta2 appimage. Already have recorder set to auto-record.
2. Paint, close krita, start new session with same painting.
3. Try to output full video, but only the 2nd session outputs.

OBSERVED RESULT
Only second session of painting outputs, because each session's painting goes
to separate folder, which breaks recorder output/not able to output full video
of painting.
