[krita] [Bug 398689] Image disappears when zooming in after scale transform
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=398689 --- Comment #20 from Alberto --- Thank you for the update. I have a couple of questions regarding the bug status and process as I'm still getting up to speed here. 1. Was someone able to isolate the specific OpenGL API call that is not working as it's supposed to on a Mac OS Nvidia GPU? Do we have sufficient information to resolve this bug? 2. If indeed it is a bug in Nvidia's driver on OS X, is there no code workaround possible? I have not encountered a similar bug on other paint/image editing applications on my Mac with this GPU. 3. Although Apple no longer ships new MacBook's with Nvidia GPU's, they are still supported by Apple (I just updated my own Nvidia MacBook to MacOS Mojave). Other Krita users have already reported this issue (other bugs closed out marked as duplicate of this one). What is the support cutoff in terms of hardware age for the purposes of Krita development? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[krita] [Bug 399820] New: Implement Metal support as OpenGL is deprecated on OS X
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=399820 Bug ID: 399820 Summary: Implement Metal support as OpenGL is deprecated on OS X Product: krita Version: 4.1.5 Platform: Mac OS X Disk Images OS: OS X Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: General Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: afonsec...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY Apple has deprecated OpenGL support for the Mac OS X platform and the API is no longer supported. Although still functional, it may cease to be included in future releases of the operating system. This bug is to report this change and advise implementation of the Metal API for continued support of Krita on the OS X platform. Please refer to Apple's note in the OpenGL programming guide: "Important OpenGL was deprecated in macOS 10.14. To create high-performance code on GPUs, use the Metal framework instead." https://developer.apple.com/library/archive/documentation/GraphicsImaging/Conceptual/OpenGL-MacProgGuide/opengl_intro/opengl_intro.html They refer developers to use the Metal API referenced here: https://developer.apple.com/metal/ Additional information regarding Apple's deprecation warning: "Deprecations Periodically, Apple adds deprecation macros to APIs to indicate that those APIs should no longer be used in active development. When a deprecation occurs, it’s not an immediate end of life for the specified API. Instead, it is the beginning of a grace period for transitioning from that API and to newer and more modern replacements. Deprecated APIs typically remain present and usable in the system for a reasonable time past the release in which they were deprecated. However, active development on them ceases, and the APIs receive only minor changes to accommodate security patches or to fix other critical bugs. Deprecated APIs may be removed entirely from a future version of the operating system. As a developer, avoid using deprecated APIs in your code as soon as possible. At a minimum, new code you write should never use deprecated APIs. And if your existing code uses deprecated APIs, update that code as soon as possible." Reference: https://developer.apple.com/macos/whats-new/ STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open Krita 2. Go to menu Krita->Preferences->Display OBSERVED RESULT Observe Canvas Graphics Acceleration option Renderer lists OpenGL and Metal is not an option. [kontact] [Bug 342387] the phones type should be customizable
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=342387 alberto changed: What|Removed |Added CC||paj...@gmail.com --- Comment #2 from alberto --- This is not only wish list, its kinda needed too If kontact is supposed to be able to interact with other programs. Any other programs allow custom tags for phones. After syncing with kontact using webdav, kontact silently dropped everything it didnt understood and making some changes to the contatc, it updated the remote vcards dropping everything it didnt understood Including custom tags that radical/evolution/gmail were able to show and to transfer between them perfectly Luckily i run the backend where i save the vcards in git and i was able to detect the mess quite fast. Im not sure I want to touch kontact again looking at this policy with unknown data. Its bad enough that is not able to show it properly, but to erase it? Just add everything you dont understand to notes or something The severity of this bug should be higher than wishlist imho. In other notes, Should I open a bug about the data lost using webdav or is this bug enough? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=398689 --- Comment #14 from Alberto --- Thank you for clarifying, I wasn't aware you could do that. I downloaded the switching software for testing and found that the issue does not appear if I switch to Integrated only. If I leave it to Discrete or Dynamic then the issue is present. Note: I had to disconnect my external display in order to for the switcher to allow me to switch to Integrated. I normally run with an external display connected. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=398689 --- Comment #17 from Alberto --- (In reply to Dmitry Kazakov from comment #16) > Hi, Alberto! > > Can I ask you to try two things: > > 0) Enable back NVidia GPU > > 1) Go to Settings->Display->Scaling Mode and set 'Bilinear Filtering'. Does > it solve the problem? > > 2) Disable a checkbox in View->Instant Preview disabled and check if the > problem still persists? Hi Dmitry, I tried the steps you suggested but neither one resolved the issue. However, since I was there on a whim I tried unchecking the "Use texture buffer" box below Scaling Mode and that seems to work. The checkbox is enabled by default. So hopefully this helps narrow it down further, NVIDIA gpu with the default "Use texture buffer" enabled produces the issue. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kdenlive] [Bug 384340] Title Template workflow could be easily sped up a little
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=384340 --- Comment #9 from alberto --- Another easy fixes Auto select text field in title template dialog and a way to accept without leaving the keyboard The idea is to shortcut to enter template (Im using ctrl + t), enter text, shorcut to accept Many programs allow to enter new line by using ctrl + enter and enter to accept. Just an idea. It will probably need some label field in the dialog explaining it so is not too obscure alt + o to accept doesnt work either when you are entering text probably because the text field is grabbing all input And lastly, having a checkbox saying to auto enter the text in the current timeline position would be just heavenly :) The flow to enter text in a video without using the mouse would be almost completed :) I can think of a few more fixes like auto adjust title time to the track if theres a constrain of time in the track. Titles doesnt have a inherent duration, doesnt make sense not to add it because the default time doesnt fit. If the constrain is shorter than the default, it should just get smaller. This last one maybe is a little more complicated. What do you do when you change the duration of the template? Do you change the ones in the tracks too? Id say only on those that you didnt change manually, but maybe it requires some extra thought and some special hints on the create title dialog and the one entered so you visually know for sure what is manually changed and whats not and you dont have to guess/remember :) Thanks for all the effort put into kdenlive! -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kdenlive] [Bug 384593] Preview optimization: Dont rerender chunks
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=384593 --- Comment #1 from alberto --- The lenght is probably the frame number and thats what is probably whats used now. It it doesnt match with the second evaluated (which is very likely not matching when you move clips with so many fps) will re-render that chunk and every chunk afterwards Maybe calculate first if the "first frame + number of fps < chunk already rendered" and re-render only up to frames that are missing. This way you can use everything afterwards, even if the first chunk uses 2 previews videos instead of 1 And only after preview engie goes idle, redo 1 second chunks that are made out of more than 3-5 videos as maintenance, to avoid growing the number of videos exponentially while having a low impact in the editing process :) Thanks for listening!
