[kwin] [Bug 490561] Error launching Vulkan/DXVK games in Flatpak on Nvidia GPU
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=490561 --- Comment #5 from YanEx --- If you enable the nvidia-persistenced daemon by running: "sudo systemctl enable nvidia-persistenced --now", it seems to resolve this issue. Additionally, you no longer need to add "__NV_PRIME_RENDER_OFFLOAD=1 __VK_LAYER_NV_optimus=NVIDIA_only __GLX_VENDOR_LIBRARY_NAME=nvidia" to the launch parameters to force games to use the Nvidia GPU instead of Intel. However, I don't fully understand the exact purpose of this daemon. Moreover, it's not required in other desktop environments, where it's disabled by default. If this isn't a KDE-specific issue, I'd like to understand where to look for answers and who I can reach out to for help. Thank you. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[kwin] [Bug 490561] Error launching Vulkan/DXVK games in Flatpak on Nvidia GPU
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=490561 --- Comment #4 from YanEx --- Based on my tests, this seems to be exclusively a KDE issue, as the problem does not occur in other DEs, such as GNOME. Interestingly, in GNOME, you don’t even need to enter any commands in the launch parameters for games to forcefully use Nvidia instead of Intel. Additionally, if you connect the laptop to an external monitor, this error does not occur in KDE, as Nvidia is used directly, as far as I understand. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[plasmashell] [Bug 507364] New: Microphone cannot be re-enabled via LMB on the indicator widget
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=507364 Bug ID: 507364 Summary: Microphone cannot be re-enabled via LMB on the indicator widget Classification: Plasma Product: plasmashell Version First 6.4.3 Reported In: Platform: Fedora RPMs OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Microphone Indicator widget Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: yanex...@gmail.com CC: k...@privat.broulik.de Target Milestone: 1.0 Created attachment 183426 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=183426&action=edit Video demonstration of the bug SUMMARY Clicking the microphone indicator widget with the left mouse button (LMB) can only mute the microphone, but cannot unmute it. To re-enable the microphone, the user must use the right mouse button (RMB) to open the context menu, then open the "Mute" submenu. Surprisingly, the mute checkbox is not enabled, even though the microphone is muted. To unmute the microphone, the user must check the box manually, then reopen the menu and uncheck it. Only after this sequence does the microphone turn back on. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Click the microphone indicator widget with LMB — the microphone gets muted. 2. Click again with LMB — nothing happens, the mic stays muted. 3. Right-click (RMB) on the same widget. 4. Open the "Mute" submenu — the checkbox is not checked, even though the mic is muted. 5. Manually check the box. 6. Close the menu and open it again via RMB. 7. Uncheck the box — only then does the microphone become enabled again. OBSERVED RESULT The microphone can be muted via LMB, but cannot be unmuted the same way. The "Mute" checkbox appears unchecked, even though the mic is actually muted. EXPECTED RESULT Clicking the widget with LMB again should unmute the microphone. Also, the mute checkbox should be visibly checked when the mic is muted. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: Fedora Linux 42 KDE Plasma Version: 6.4.3 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.16.0 Qt Version: 6.9.1 Kernel Version: 6.15.6-200.fc42.x86_64 (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland Processors: 12 × 11th Gen Intel® Core™ i5-11400H @ 2.70GHz Memory: 16 GiB of RAM (15.2 GiB usable) Graphics Processor 1: Intel® UHD Graphics Graphics Processor 2: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Laptop GPU ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Would it be possible to replace the muted microphone icon in the widget with the one shown in the "Mute" menu when accessed via right-click? That icon more clearly indicates that the microphone is muted and is visually more noticeable than the current one. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
