[kwin] [Bug 489854] New: Wayland crashing games and other apps
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=489854 Bug ID: 489854 Summary: Wayland crashing games and other apps Classification: Plasma Product: kwin Version: 6.1.2 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: compositing Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: tarapicc...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- I know this is a bug, just not for what component. When playing games on Steam and using the Wayland desktop, if i am recording my screen or streaming over discord, after a minute or two the game, steam, and the recording app crashes. I don't know how to obtain a crash report since no crash report dialog pops up, and this involves multiple applications. I will provide the steps I know reproduce it, and will specify the game I was trying to play. I am sure it has nothing to do with the game, and X11 works perfectly, but lacks some of the nice new features Wayland has. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Launch Vesktop (I use this one because screen-sharing with audio on linux) 2. Launch steam 3. Screenshare the whole desktop 4. Launch Resident Evil 7 5. Play for a minute 6. Everything crashes. OBSERVED RESULT Crashes - It specifically says wayland crashes EXPECTED RESULT No crashes. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: Garuda (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 6.1.2 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.3.0 Qt Version: 6.7.2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I don't know if this is a bug with Vesktop, Wayland, Plasma, or all of the above. I get different behavior on X11 than on Wayland. I do know if i am not recording the screen or sharing it, the game does not crash, however the FPS is absolutely terrible in wayland. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[dolphin] [Bug 361788] New: Show Menubar check box toggle can become the inverse of the menubar's actual state, menubar flicker
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=361788 Bug ID: 361788 Summary: Show Menubar check box toggle can become the inverse of the menubar's actual state, menubar flicker Product: dolphin Version: 15.12.3 Platform: Archlinux Packages OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: minor Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: dolphin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: tara.annapu...@gmail.com Steps to reproduce: 1. Start with the menubar shown 2. Select to configure the toolbar 3. Add and or remove a button from the toolbar to put the configuration dialog in a state where changes have to be applied 4. In the Settings menu, click the Show Menubar item to deselect and hide the menubar 5. Click Apply in the Toolbar Configuration dialog Result: When the toolbar changes are applied, the Menubar is toggled on again. However, the visibility toggle indicator next to the menu item in the Settings menu is unchecked. If from here you click on the Show Menubar item, the menubar with toggle off. If you check the Show Menubar item in the Control toolbar button, it will appear selected even though the menubar is now hidden. Expected Result: The Menubar should stay hidden. Observations: I also tried the steps above while starting with the menubar hidden. When Apply is clicked in the Toolbar Configuration dialog, the menubar quickly appears and disappears. This looks like a glitch. Hopefully though, this observation will help track down the code that is erroneously showing the menu bar and what I assume is a hack that is toggling the menubar state when Toolbar Configuration changes are applied. This appearance only affects the current dolphin window. New instances display correctly. No functionality is affected. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
