On plasma 6 beta 2 i cant make it happen under proton 8.0 but now i can push
the cursor out of fullscreen, borderless or window mode. I honestly would wait
for native wayland for wine then i think these will be fixed as they could be
xwayland problems

This still happens on KDE plasma 5.27.7 in Wayland in apex legends

Other desktop environments or tiling window managers don't have this issue
under Wayland

It happens randomly in game like other people have reported.

At first I thought it was my mouse but after trying x11 it didn't occur anymore
but I would love to use Wayland as my main instead of x11 :)

If this could be fixed that would be awesome

mouse cursor bug in apex under wayland kwin

as you can see here when i move my cursor down the bottom right i'm able to
create the issue if i move quick enough when tabbing out, which from guess is
the cursor is resetting to the center but the game reacts to it if the player
is able to move out of the menu quickly enough.

installing a older version of gamescope fixes the issue so ill deal with this
until kde devs figure out a fix

Well after clearing certain folders related to discover, plasmashell etc it
didn't solve the issue, so i backed up some config folders for some software
and deleted all of the .config and now discover is back to being fast :)

Dont know what was causing it in the .config, but if it happens again ill have
to look around more to see what is causing it

Thanks for the help!

2024-12-01 Thread pollux/ned
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=496917

Bug ID: 496917
Summary: wallpapers dont load their thumbnails in plasma
settings wallpaper, desktop settings or dolphin
Classification: Applications
   Product: systemsettings
   Version: 6.2.4
  Platform: Arch Linux
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: kcm_wallpaper
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: pollu...@proton.me
CC: me...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Some of my wallpapers thumbnails dont show properly in kde's wallpaper setting
or desktop settings, wallpapers, they instead show a white image

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Use some of the wallpapers i have provided that dont load thumbnails
properly
2. Check dolphin, desktop wallpaper settings, wallpaper settings

OBSERVED RESULT
Thumbnails dont load on any of them

EXPECTED RESULT
Should show the thumbnails

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Endeavour os
KDE Plasma Version: 6.2.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.8.0
Qt Version: 6.8.0

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I feel like i may be missing some package for these thumbnails to load but i
dont know what package i need, it would be nice if there was a popup saying
your missing a certain plugin or package of somesort to get these thumbnails to
load properly instead of having to go to the internet to figure out which
package i need

Checking the arch wiki i have both kdegraphics-thumbnailers and ffmpegthumbs

2024-12-04 Thread pollux/ned
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=497030

Bug ID: 497030
Summary: xwayland windows stealing focus when clicking on a
wayland window
Classification: Plasma
   Product: kwin
   Version: 6.2.4
  Platform: Arch Linux
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: xwayland
  Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: pollu...@proton.me
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
I have been experience this little bug where xwayland windows like to steal the
focus of a window above like if i have firefox opened and a xwayland game is
underneath that window, it will steal the focus when im clicking around on that
firefox window that is maximized, this happens in other xwayland applications
also like steam for example likes to steal focus when i have something above it

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Run a xwayland application like steam or a xwayland game
2. Have a window above that is wayland not xwayland
3. Click around that wayland window like firefox for example until the xwayland
game takes focus when its underneath that wayland window

OBSERVED RESULT
Dirt rally 2.0 is the first example of a xwayland window taking focus when im
clicking around in firefox

EXPECTED RESULT
The xwayland window is supposed to not take focus when im running a wayland
window above that xwayland window

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Arch linux
KDE Plasma Version: 6.2.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.8.0
Qt Version: 6.8.1

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This started happening after plasma 6.1 i think or 6.2 when tearing was added
on wayland, unsure
