To clarify, this problem occurs when colours are set to the now default "Breeze Light". If I change the colours back to "Breeze" the problem disappears in KStars. I can in my SVG files inherit, for example, the properties of the Focus Decoration and Hover Decoration colors from the system color scheme. This can be done by setting the SVG object's class to "ColorScheme-ViewFocus" or "ColorScheme-ViewHover respectively, and setting the color to "currentColor". This works successfully. What I would really want to do though is to inherit the "Active Titlebar" and "Inactive Titlebar" colors from the system color scheme in the same way. [Falkon] [Bug 419608] New: Make controls work at the screen edges - enable benefits of Fitt's Law
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=419608 Bug ID: 419608 Summary: Make controls work at the screen edges - enable benefits of Fitt's Law Product: Falkon Version: 3.0.1 Platform: openSUSE RPMs OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: now...@gmail.com Reporter: k...@paulmcauley.com Target Milestone: --- In a maximized window, numerous controls in Falkon do not work at the screen edge. Namely by default: - Back Button - Menu Button - Scroll Bars (actually, these do work - this initially was not working for me is probably related to bug 387775 ) Fitt's Law states that because the screen edges are "infinitely" large click targets, then they are very easy to reach with the mouse pointer. Positioning the browser's controls at the screen edges therefore allows faster mouse interactions with these controls. In addition, tabs in the title bar (as per bug 395859), would also allow the tabs to be accessible at the screen edge and hence faster mouse navigation. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[Falkon] [Bug 395859] "Hide title bar" option
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=395859 Paul M changed: What|Removed |Added CC||k...@paulmcauley.com --- Comment #10 from Paul M --- I agree this would be an essential feature for me to switch to Falkon as my main browser (which I really would like to do). The benefits of this are two-fold: 1. It gives you more screen space for content. 2. It allows you to place tabs at the top screen-edge. This allows much easier and faster tab switching with the mouse pointer as per Fitt's Law. You do not have to think about the vertical axis when moving the pointer to select a tab, just throwing the mouse to the top, hence allowing faster tab selection. (I filed a separate bug 419608 for other controls within Falkon which do not take advantage of Fitt's Law) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kdeconnect] [Bug 336043] SFTP: Should be able to browse external SD cards via SFTP too
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=336043 Paul M changed: What|Removed |Added CC||k...@paulmcauley.com --- Comment #56 from Paul M --- Also affected: - Sony Xperia Z1 Compact (Android 5.1.1) - Sony Xperia Z3 (Android 6.0.1) The Z1 Compact also lists the SD card in a strange way - listed are "Internal Storage" (the correct internal storage at storage/emulated/0/), "SD card" (this is blank and points to storage/remote/), and "SD card 2" (correctly points to storage/sdcard1/ which is the real SD card but suffers from this bug whereby you cannot see deeper contents without manually lengthening the path). /storage/remote/ probably shouldn't be displayed as an "sd card", but I have no idea what it is. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[Breeze] [Bug 375005] New: New scrollbars for Plasma 4.9: slow scrolling is no longer intuitive
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=375005 Bug ID: 375005 Summary: New scrollbars for Plasma 4.9: slow scrolling is no longer intuitive Product: Breeze Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: plasma-de...@kde.org Reporter: k...@paulmcauley.com Target Milestone: --- I tried the new scrollbars for Plasma 4.9 and think they need tweaked further. With the traditional scrollbars there were arrows on which you could click to scroll slowly. Now to scroll slowly you have to click on a smaller and less intuitive hidden white area outside the main scrollbar. Arrows were also more intuitive for novice users to indicate the function of the bar. To correct this I think you should show the scroll arrows on mouse over, just like you show the area representing what is hidden only on mouse over. This keeps the less cluttered new look, except with the same original functionality. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[Breeze] [Bug 375005] New scrollbars for Plasma 4.9: slow scrolling is no longer intuitive
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=375005 --- Comment #2 from Paul M --- (In reply to Kai Uwe Broulik from comment #1) > You can configure which buttons you want Yes, I know you can configure the scroll bar, but as a default it doesn't make sense to hide the arrow. The defaults should also be suitable for novices and most of my relatives (who have used computers for years) read webpages by repeatedly clicking the arrow. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[Breeze] [Bug 375005] New scrollbars for Plasma 4.9: slow scrolling is no longer intuitive
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=375005 --- Comment #4 from Paul M --- (In reply to Kai Uwe Broulik from comment #3) > Don't you have a mouse wheel or scroll gesture on your touchpad? Yes I do but those aren't always precise (especially touchpad scroll gestures). The arrows are useful for scrolling small distances, or for scrolling lazily whereby you just keep the arrow pressed down. I know you don't *have* to click the arrow itself to scroll, but I think they add some visual clarity, especially for novices, that the function is for moving up and down. The arrows also distinguish a scroll bar from other UI elements used in breeze e.g. in Dolphin there is a disk space indicator which looks almost visually identical to a scroll bar. Hide the arrow when the mouse is not over and you still get the elegant clean clutter-free design you are striving for. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[Breeze] [Bug 375005] New scrollbars for Plasma 4.9: slow scrolling is no longer intuitive
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=375005 --- Comment #6 from Paul M --- (In reply to John Salatas from comment #5) > You can also use the keyboard's up/down arrow keys, for more > precision/control. You could, but sometimes the mouse is simply more convenient than the keyboard. There are also some situations where you do not know where has the focus for keyboard input, and in those situations it is better to use the mouse. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
