I run KDE neon User Edition as a VM in Oracle Virtualbox 7.0, fully updated. I
login to the Desktop session with Plasma (X11), as Plasma (Wayland) doesn't
load the Desktop.

Not sure that I agree with this bug being identified as a duplicate of bug
434090 and indicating this bugs status as RESOLVED. The duplicate cited is over
3-years old, it's status merely CONFIRMED but with no fix/solution given, and
reported on Arch Linux that was running earlier versions of Plasma, Frameworks,
and Qt.

I can however, confirm that switching to Folder View, the Sticky Note widget
behaves as one expects, and clicking anywhere outside of the Sticky Note
releases focus from the Sticky Note.

Slap myself in the face! A simple omission of a letter s in
Exec=/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libexec/ksmserver-logout-greeter was my undoing!
I omitted the s in ksmserver (had it spelled ksmerver). With that correction,
all my logout options work. Note to self (for the umpteenth time): Don't proof
read your own work!

May well be fixed in Frameworks 6.1, but it is also fixed (at least for me) in
my KDE neon User Edition which is running Frameworks 5.112.0. I can't say when
it started working again, but obviously some update brought the fix in.
