[kmail2] [Bug 420433] New: Clone identity

2020-04-22 Thread Parker
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=420433

Bug ID: 420433
   Summary: Clone identity
   Product: kmail2
   Version: Git (master)
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdepim-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: sotadic_rest...@simplelogin.co
  Target Milestone: ---

Kmail already offers some options like modify, delete and rename, but it's
still not possible to clone an existing identity. That would be very helpful.

[kmail2] [Bug 420434] New: Change only body font size

2020-04-22 Thread Parker
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=420434

Bug ID: 420434
Summary: Change only body font size
   Product: kmail2
   Version: Git (master)
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: UI
  Assignee: kdepim-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: sotadic_rest...@simplelogin.co
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Changing the font size of the mail body also changes the header font.

OBSERVED RESULT
I changed the default font size of kmail because I think the default size is
too small (at least on my monitor) but I would like this change to only apply
to the message body and not the header.

As some email addresses can be very large, or there can be a lot of recipients,
this becomes a mess and takes up almost every piece of screen available

See this screenshot: https://i.imgur.com/djDh9nt.png

EXPECTED RESULT
Ideally, it would be possible to edit the font size individually for each of
the two separately.

[kmail2] [Bug 420436] New: Modify header section

2020-04-22 Thread Parker

Bug ID: 420436
   Summary: Modify header section
   Product: kmail2
   Version: Git (master)
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: UI
  Assignee: kdepim-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: sotadic_rest...@simplelogin.co
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Kmail already has many options to customize the interface and that's amazing!
But there's almost nothing to customize the part where the basic headers of an
email are displayed, like sender, recipient, subject, etc.

Options to change which items should be displayed, list all headers, see the
source of the email, would be very useful.

Another necessary modification would be the possibility to move the reply
buttons, forward, and other useful ones to that same place. In my opinion it
makes more sense that these buttons stay in the header.
Currently, they only stay on the top menu and you can move it to one of the
sides or keep it "floating".
Something like what I tried to do in this image:

@Laurent Montel, you seem to keep developing kmail as a karma you've acquired.
Why don't you give it up and get on with your life? Let someone else who really
has an interest and passion for what you do take care of it.
You treat people as inferior and disagree with all your opinions. I don't think
the KDE community can be contaminated with toxic people like you.
Btw, I've never seen any KDE application have so many bugs and not work like
KMail.

KDE really needs an e-mail client. I don't understand how this is not
prioritized.

"[...] that are maintained by a single developer 365 days each year."
Did you realize you just agreed with what I said earlier?
He works alone because the people who try to help him can't. If you want
everything to be done your way, you don't have patience with those who are
learning and you think you're right about everything, so there's no surprise if
you work alone.

This isn't just about lines of code, it's also about the person you are.
Treating people who come here to make a suggestion or report a bug well is
essential and necessary.

KMail has a lot of bugs and a lot of things don't work, but that doesn't mean
it's dead. It just needs to be more open to contributions. If that's done,
other people will contribute.

[elisa] [Bug 417945] New: Audio problem

2020-02-20 Thread Parker

Bug ID: 417945
   Summary: Audio problem
   Product: elisa
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: matthieu_gall...@yahoo.fr
  Reporter: bugs-...@comunidadelinux.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

What happens is that the audio played from a live link of a radio transmitted
via HLS is "cutting".

I don't know the correct word for it, so I uploaded a video showing the bug.
https://cloud.disroot.org/s/NizX72iyBoRypne
In the video, I used mpv to play the same radio to show that the link works
without problems in another program

Another thing that happens is that the play/pause button stops working and I
can't get to the radio, I have to close the program.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Add a radio with an url like this:
https://medias.sgr.globo.com/hls/aRGloboRJ/aRGloboRJ.m3u8
2. Play

This also happens with other links from other radios, like this one
http://server01.ouvir.radio.br:8050/stream?1582044253100

The current workaround is add the account manually. It's finally worked for me.

Settings -> Configure the Kmail
In accounts, add an identity, configure your IMAP/POP3/other server in the
receiving tab (press "Add" button and choose "Another account") and then
configure SMTP on the sending tab.

[plasmashell] [Bug 419551] New: pop up audio notifications

   Version: master
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Notifications
  Assignee: k...@privat.broulik.de
  Reporter: sotadic_rest...@simplelogin.co
CC: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: 1.0

The pop up that is displayed when the volume is changed should be less
intrusive. It appears in the middle of the screen and is very large.

https://upload.vaa.red/2a7VCB#8Uqi3kasG0TOETevKtBuMoVc8kbK2ti0

Changing the audio output also generates another pop up in the same place and
of the same size.

To change these two settings more often, this is very disturbing, especially
when watching a movie or series.

Why is it not displayed as a native plasma notification or as a smaller and
more discreet pop up, like on the edge of the screen.

2024-06-20 Thread Parker Reed

Subsequently the cursor size changing is entirely dependent on animation speed.

If you have it set really low, it takes a long time to inflate and deflate.

Thank you for widget, Nate. Using it every day.

Before this feature would be released, if somebody has same trouble — I've
found temporary workaround.
After activating calculator widget with hotkey, user can simply press Tab key —
so widget getting focus on "C" button, and user can input any data. So, in my
case, I use combo "Win+K, Tab" and widget works as I'm expecting.

[dolphin] [Bug 481979] New: No audio and video play in information panel (After upgrade to qt6 and plasma6)

2024-02-28 Thread Alex Parker
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=481979

Bug ID: 481979
Summary: No audio and video play in information panel (After
upgrade to qt6 and plasma6)
Classification: Applications
   Product: dolphin
   Version: 24.02.0
  Platform: Neon

  Priority: NOR
 Component: panels: information
  Assignee: dolphin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: someanonymousema...@mail.ru
CC: kfm-de...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
After yesterday big update to plasma6 there is no more audio and video play
preview at information panel.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Update to latest kde neon
2. Choose mp3 or mp4 file in Dolphin and try to click play button at info
side-panel
3. Nothing happens, and timeline control in preview area are grayed (like
«function inaccessible for now»)

EXPECTED RESULT
Play of audio/video file in small preview area in info panel.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Neon Latest
KDE Plasma Version: 6
KDE Frameworks Version: 6
Qt Version: 6

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
When start Dolphin from Konsole, I've got many lines of warnings like this:
```
kf.kio.core: An error occurred during write. The worker terminates now.
WARNING: bool Phonon::FactoryPrivate::createBackend() phonon backend plugin
could not be loaded
WARNING: bool Phonon::FactoryPrivate::createBackend() phonon backend plugin
WARNING: bool Phonon::FactoryPrivate::createBackend() phonon backend plugin
could not be loaded
WARNING: Phonon::createPath: Cannot connect  Phonon::MediaObject ( no
objectName ) to  Phonon::AudioOutput ( no objectName ).
```
Those messages generated when I've clicked on audio or video files in
directory.

Before yesterday big update all worked fine. Maybe, during update, when
Discover audo-deleted 2-3 dozens of packages — it didn't install package or
plugin for this function of media-preview? Maybe I need to install something
else? I've installed manually `pkcon install phonon-backend-gstreamer` but
nothing changed, it didn't help.

[kwin] [Bug 484492] New: Plasma Wayland fails to initialize Display Stream Compression

2024-03-25 Thread Parker Reed
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=484492

Bug ID: 484492
Summary: Plasma Wayland fails to initialize Display Stream
Compression
Classification: Plasma
   Product: kwin
   Version: 6.0.2
  Platform: Arch Linux
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: multi-screen
  Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: parker.l.r...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

Hardware: Steam Deck/ROG Ally
Dock : Dell WD-19S
Monitors: 3 Lenovo Q27q-10 1440p 75 Hz

With all three monitors connected (MST and Display Stream Compression) Plasma
X11 can output to all three at their native 1440p 75 Hz.

When running Plasma Wayland, it's either

* 2 1440 75 Hz and the third monitor never initializes video (Does however show
up to KScreen)

* 1 1440 75 Hz and 2 1080 60 Hz (As if Display Stream Compression wasn't even
working to begin with)

I have confirmed on Gnome Wayland Mutter that all three monitors do work at
their native resolution for Wayland.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Plug in monitors
2. Go to Display Settings
3. Try to configure all three at native reosolution

OBSERVED RESULT

Acts like DSC isn't available and either 2 work or 3 work at reduced
resolution.

EXPECTED RESULT

All three to work at native resolution (As they do in Gnome)

The steps as I posted them should replicate it.

When you go into the edit color scheme dialog and click on any of the colors
like foreground or background and leave that resulting color picker dialog open
and close the schemes and profile, proceeding to close the color picker will
crash the entire application.

When using more than one display with the same EDID name and multiple different
rotations, display configuration will apply your changes but instantly think a
change was made so there are TWO apply steps.

Due to a hardware issue, sometimes my displays reconnect and the portrait
rotation from the right monitor is applied to the left making the left upside
down. I have to go in each time and reapply the rotation, apply twice, and then
close out.

Confirmed on two different AMD GPU systems with the same monitor layout (One
HDMI and two Displayport)

My fix was to create a specific EDID for each of the portrait monitors with
their own name. Image attached showing the result of the fix.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Have three monitors
2. Arrange in one landscape, one portrait, and one reverse portrait
3. Rotation applied incorrectly to one of the portrait montiors

OBSERVED RESULT

On display reconnect/resume, the wrong rotation is applied to one of the
portrait monitors due to the naming of the display being the same between all.

EXPECTED RESULT

Displays to be treated separately (possibly by serial/unique identifier based
on connection name)

Forgot to mention session type X11.

I think the connector based layout is working but there's possibly a bug with
two of the same name in portrait rotation.

[kwin] [Bug 451591] [kwin/display configuration] Multiple monitors with same name cause unintentional behavior

2022-03-19 Thread Parker Reed
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=451591

Thanks to a wonderful contributor over on Reddit, finally realized what exposed
this issue.

My custom EDID setup was already in place when this started. The DisplayPort
dock that I have will not drive to monitors at the full refresh rate. So I
already had a custom EDID with a single mode single refresh rate set for both
of those. Guess which two those were, both portrait.

I used a basic EDID generator for the mode and refresh rate which doesn't set a
serial number. On top of that I used the same file for both of them in the
kernel command line, so to the system they were essentially the same monitor
with an nulled out serial.

My "solution" of creating to EDID with different names worked because Plasma
then have something to differentiate them by even with a blank serial.

Wayland with the same EDID works as it already names them as "unknown
" programmatically.

For the X11 issue at hand, I get that it was my EDID with the same nulled
serial causing the issue. I know those get used a lot so probably not the first
to run into it. Will be interesting to see if there's anything that can be done
there.

Thanks.

appears to be working as expected. I believe I changed the bottom option in
display settings to remember it per monitor setup if that helps. I was on 5.23
shortly before this (Steam Deck) and I was experiencing the same rotation issue
on the left hand monitor. After Steam Deck Main branch updated to 5.26, smooth
sailing.

SUMMARY

If the monitors turn off for any reason, night light will fail to activate.
This is because of Displayport "hotplug", where sleeping displayport monitors
are treated as unplugged.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Turn off a displayport monitor before Night Light's activation time.
2. Turn it on after activation, it doesn't activate.

OBSERVED RESULT

Night Light never triggers

EXPECTED RESULT

Night light should work normally.

devil iterates over two batteries but the restart works fine.

plasmawindowed

If I run org.kde.plasma.battery with plasmawindowed within the same session it
shows the correct "Battery" label

I guess this doesn't rule out a kernel bug or configuration issue. The only
commonality between my devices is using Arch Linux.

Recently switched to Linux Zen on the framework and its BAT1 as well.

I'll ask around on the framework discussion to see what their devices show.

The behavior is seemingly entirely dependent on whether your
/sys/class/power_supply folder has a BAT0 or BAT1.

None of my devices have any capabilities for multiple batteries, but they are
all labeled as BAT1, which would be 2.

What is your battery labeled as under sysfs?

I'm seeing a bunch of mentions of this being handled with quirks in the kernel

Okay, so just realized I do have more AMD hardware.

Steam Deck is also BAT1 but 5.27 but power widget correctly labels it as
"Battery".

Ally, FW 16, T495 all on 6.1/6.2 are BAT1 and have the "Battery 2" label.

So, if you need a testing device to triage against, Steam Deck would be a good
bet with an up-to-date operating system installed.

I am seeing this on all of my AMD hardware currently, so Framework 16 and a
T495.

Using up-to-date kernels on Arch Linux.

Currently have 6.2 beta on the Framework and it is still showing the same
behavior.

I figured it out finally.

DisplayDevice has battery stats but no vendor info.

This increments unnamedBattery by 1. The real battery comes along and trips it
over to 2.

Is DisplayDevice not monitor in UPower's world? Now I'm not so sure if that's
what's tripping the counter.
