[frameworks-plasma] [Bug 445893] KDE Plasma segfaults in Plasma::WindowTextureProvider::~WindowTextureProvider()
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=445893 PG changed: What|Removed |Added Version Fixed In||5.27.x after complete ||package upgrade and ||replacement CC||account4...@protonmail.com Platform|Compiled Sources|Fedora RPMs Version|5.88.0 |5.26.0 --- Comment #21 from PG --- If i remember correctly after reporting the bug, it was a version upgrade (plasma 5.26.x to 5.27.x) dependency issue in fedora kde. When you ran the update before the bug appeared some packages needed replacement and their filenames changed (those were some purely qt related packages) but since their filenames changed you had to accept the replacement of those new dependencies overwriting other existing ones with different filenames. I initially did not accept those as i did not know if it would break my system after I saw the warning in dnf. After that I experienced this bug. After upgrading and overwriting the dependency upon experiencing the bug KDE plasma 5.27.x runs smoothly without those filed bug issues. I hope this helps! -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[plasmashell] [Bug 478218] New: Plasma panel usability improvement | Make Plasma Panel to behave same as when clicking on desktop in background or on opened application windows
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=478218 Bug ID: 478218 Summary: Plasma panel usability improvement | Make Plasma Panel to behave same as when clicking on desktop in background or on opened application windows Classification: Plasma Product: plasmashell Version: 5.27.9 Platform: Fedora RPMs OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Panel Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: account4...@protonmail.com CC: niccolo.venera...@gmail.com Target Milestone: 1.0 SUMMARY When having any widget opened (expanded), or the start menu (kickoff) as example; when you click on another opened application window or the empty desktop space in the background kickoff or expanded widget will close. But if you click on the Plasma Panel itself it will not close. From a usability perspective a closing behavior would be more intuitive. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open Kickoff menu or any other widget in the Plasma Panel an see it expanded 2. Click on Plasma Panel 3. Expanded window does not close 4. Click on desktop or any other opened application window it would close OBSERVED RESULT 1. Expanded panel widgets do not close upon click on the panel itself (or other placed panels elsewhere on the desktop) EXPECTED RESULT The expanded widget should close SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Platform details: Fedora Linux 38 KDE-Plasma-Version: 5.27.9 KDE-Frameworks-Version: 5.111.0 Qt-Version: 5.15.11 Wayland ADDITIONAL INFORMATION -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[kasts] [Bug 487173] New: Improvements to Kasts - add grouping for followed podcasts (maybe as tags, folders or playlists)
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=487173 Bug ID: 487173 Summary: Improvements to Kasts - add grouping for followed podcasts (maybe as tags, folders or playlists) Classification: Applications Product: kasts Version: 24.02.2 Platform: Other OS: Other Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: b...@mogwai.be Reporter: account4...@protonmail.com Target Milestone: --- Kasts in itself is a great application, thank you very much for the development efforts you have put into making this application. If you follow many different podcasts it becomes quite a bit overwhelming to keep track just by name. It would be great if it was possible to group podcasts either by tags and/or sort them into folders. Creating specifically named Playlists would alternatively also be an alternative to organizing the podcasts. As in folders: Maybe on the subscriptions page you could be able to make folders to sort/categorize your podcasts. Or add a new page "Categories" to the left side bar (which might be the better choice). Also would be nice to be able to play all casts from that folder/assigned category - as in "add to que". As in tagging: On the left sidebar you could add "Tagged" and you could assign keywords to podcasts therein (or the keywords could be generated/fetched from the types/categories of the podcasts themselves). Or alternatively a section "Playlists" on the left sidebar where you can add your subscribed channels to custom named playlists (functioning essentially similarly to the folders above). My best regards to the development team. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[kwin] [Bug 477371] New: Application menus / submenu options are outside the screen borders on small screens (1366x768)
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=477371 Bug ID: 477371 Summary: Application menus / submenu options are outside the screen borders on small screens (1366x768) Classification: Plasma Product: kwin Version: 5.27.9 Platform: Fedora RPMs OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: appmenu Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: account4...@protonmail.com Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 163364 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=163364&action=edit Images of submenu placement On Wayland long submenus with many options in the submenus become too long to fit the screensize even if a scrollable submenu activates upon second time hover/clicking (upon first hover the submenus are somewhat placed differently or incompletely), the last options of those submenus remain outside the screen borders and are therefore not readable and therefore often not directly clickable. If one knows the option beforehand it can still be reached with keyboard arrows. An example of those long submenus is LibreOffice "Tools" option, other software using the same menu framework behaves the same, therefore likely a QT configuration issue for smaller screens. Platform details: Fedora Linux 38 KDE-Plasma-Version: 5.27.9 KDE-Frameworks-Version: 5.111.0 Qt-Version: 5.15.11 Wayland STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Screen size of 1366x768 2. (I have a thin top bar and bottom bar but does not really matter just reduces the screen height more) 3. Toggle submenus in LibreOffice (Tools option for example) 4. See menus are outside the screen borders 5. Also upon first hovering or clicking of a submenu the first entry is placed directly next to the pointer, upon second hover/clicking it submenu uses entire screen height an centers vertically next to the pointer (Feedback/Enhancement: It would be better to have the second become default with long menus for user experience) OBSERVED RESULT Submenu options are outside the screen borders EXPECTED RESULT Submenu stays within the visible screen real estate and becomes scrollable within those borders SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Platform details: Fedora Linux 38 KDE-Plasma-Version: 5.27.9 KDE-Frameworks-Version: 5.111.0 Qt-Version: 5.15.11 Wayland ADDITIONAL INFORMATION -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
